If your goal is to lose weight i recommend starting with some diet and cardio first then get into weight training. weight training alone won't help you lose weight.

WOW!! This is why i love MFP. I love the ideas that it's a little Pavlovian in that i associate the movies with popcorn because thats exactly what i do. Thanks for the feedback everyone and i'm going to take your advice on different strategies and some new reading material.

I agree with the walking part thats what i have done and it worked for me because i didn't need to drive to a gym and i could do it whenever i wanted to do it.. Use the map my fitness app or get a fitbit to help keep track of your calories burned that helps as well.

I like your question and i'm curious as to what other people think about this. I'm 6'0 and i started out at 316 lbs and i set my goal at 180. I haven't weighed 180 since i finished army basic 33 years ago so i'm not sure if thats a realistic goal or not. I think as we get older we develop more muscle mass as well so maybe…

I'm no expert by any means but i know that you should eat after you work out because thats when your metabolism is in high gear. I start each day by walking two miles and then i eat a high protein breakfast like 3 eggs for example.

DON'T STOP SNACKING....... I eat snacks all the time only they aren't nutter butter cookies they're fruits or vegetables or air popped popcorn for example.

Plan out all your meals ahead of time. It's too hard to find good healthy food options on the fly when your on vacation

I've been using MFP for 8 months now and i don't keep track on the weekends anymore. I've got a pretty good handle on what i can or can't eat and still stay within my daily calorie intake. We just don't order take out anymore as fast food is my kryptonite. You can't control your partner anymore then they can control you.…
