I don't recommend asking about keto on the general boards: community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/1143-keto

Weight loss slows down the closer you get to your goal. The "last ten pounds" or in your case 13lbs, are notoriously difficult. The usual suspects people will tell you are: - Under-estimating calorie intake (logging inaccurate) - Not calculating TDEE and deficit accurately - Over-estimating calorie burn - Take measurements…

I don't really know, it's different for everyone, I was just pointing out your carb intake may be more than you think. On that end, look more carefully at serving sizes/portions and the ACTUAL content of protein/carb/fats. In everything you eat. Because 100g of bread is not 100g of carbs, just as 100g of pasta is not 100g…

Someone recommended this one yesterday: http://www.health-calc.com/diet/energy-expenditure-advanced I thought it was cool it took into account a breakdown of your daily activities, dunno how accurate it may be though.

Nope. Some whole wheat pastas even have more carbs than the regular, and the "more" fiber doesn't really put a dent in the net carb difference. And I also think pasta has more carbs than bread, per 100g just generally speaking. That's twice as bad considering you can eat two slices of bread, but it's unlikely you'll eat a…

I weigh myself every morning, after toilet, before breakfast. But I do it out of habit, if it goes up and down I don't freak out, that's normal. As long as the overall trend is downward and my measurements aren't increasing I know I'm ok. If I see it going up over a couple of days, then I know I'm gaining. If you stress…

Making your own usually reduces sugar, so you can cut a couple calories there... But since it's based on eggs and oil, calories probably won't go down that much. I've seen people use greek or regular yogurt as a replacement.

There's plenty of healthy baked recipes out there! Use your baking to your advantage :) I always use pinterest for everything food related: http://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=healthy%20baking&term_meta%5B%5D=healthy%7Ctyped&term_meta%5B%5D=baking%7Ctyped

@Basilin I don't think I'm being defensive. You addressed me about something I said, I'm clarifying it's just my opinion.

Well, I wasn't really talking about you, but ok... This is what I do and anyone else can do whatever they think is right for them. I also don't drink juices, soda, alcohol, flavored waters that have calories or carbs, or coffee. That's why I drink so much water. But, before, when I used to drink all that, they would all…

I go out with my workout clothes on, or with a gym bag and wherever I am, when I'm done working and running errands I find the nearest park and get in my miles.

Drink more water. Eos Lip Balm.

@canadacatman Body Weight (lbs) / 2 = oz water, i think that's a helpful guideline I usually have twice as much, and only H2O is considered "water" for me, some people start adding all sorts of stuff, but those just make me thirstier therefore i don't count them.

If people tell me they're interested in losing weight, I'll mention that I use an app, if they seem interested, I elaborate. I've actually programmed it myself on at least 5-6 people's phones.

Depends what you're aiming for...

I don't think this is a serious post, so here's a little something for you... enjoy!

Me, 33lbs but I've recently gotten off my bum and started to be more active... and it's taken a year of mostly just small changes.

I'm on keto, but there's a couple of reasons I don't think it's right for you (yet, anyway): 1) You're asking an online forum whether it's right for you 2) You don't know a whole lot about it 3) You're asking for tips, before doing the research 4) There are plenty of reasons why a person shouldn't try keto, but I don't…

About the "time lag": In my head, and not based on ANY scientific research, I think this is why the ketostix can be so inaccurate. People eat a slice of cake, go home and measure with a stix and "oh look, i'm still in ketosis" when actually those may be just leftover ketones floating around in your body that you are still…

When I'm done, I blend some soap and water in the blender and wipe it down with a sponge immediately. It helps with the oily coating.

What were they actually serving?

"You want to hit your protein goal...." Yes, BUT only if the "goal" is correctly set (if set too high it can "undo" all the good that lowering carbs and increasing fat did) THIS is why I now focus on hitting my fat goals. I realized that the lower I was on fat, the higher I tended to be on protein, defeating the purpose of…

I think the concern would be that they are high in calories, and if he's already getting his daily allotment of calories, adding a fat bomb will put him way over. But, that's just off the top of my head. I get him, I love my chocolate mousse fat bomb too :)

Pinterest is my go-to source for everything food related. Skinny recipes and low-carb replacements are everywhere here. I'm particularly obsessed at the moment with Mashed Cauliflower, I used to hate cauliflower! I would rather starve than put it in my mouth, but it REALLY is better than mashed potatos. Here's a recipe for…

@FitnessGal1983 For low carb my go-to is Wendy's Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad without croutons (sometimes without tomatoes, sometimes extra bacon or extra blue cheese). Or a baconator with no bun. They're tricky over there, if I hadn't checked macros before eating my choice would have been the chili but it's LOADED with…
