Yes, because the body is limited on how much it can take from fat stores in a given time period. If it runs short on the "bank withdrawals" for the day it will start restricting expenditures to unnecessary and less necessary functions.

Too few calories makes it difficult to reach nutrient goals, which can result in hair loss, brittle nails, even organ damage eventually. Much easier to get appropriate macros when you eat a little more than 1200 calories.

Talk to your doctor.
-
I'd suggest upping expenditure (exercise, activity) before lowering calories, since they are already so low.

Cosplays. I have 3 in development and am trying so hard not to come up with more. The realm of possibility when I'm not chunky anymore is enormous! The difficult part will be juggling the skinny clothes when I feel freezing all the time.

I have mini goals but I believe they are all achievable in the timeframe I gave them. I made a 2 year plan for losing 100 pounds, with my second year having a 1.5-2 pound projected loss per month. And all months have a secondary non-weight goal. If I don't hit my goals on time that's ok, I can still see how far I came from…

"Better" doesn't tell us much. What's your daily calorie goal?
-
I was upset yesterday because I didn't go over at family dinner, when I'd planned on it, so I ate 350 calories of leftovers to balance my week. Today I had a mini chocolate bunny with my deviled eggs and don't plan to go over on dinner.

Granny's cheesy potatoes will do me in this weekend. More worth it than the candy.
-
I turned down cheesecake at work. Coworker said, lighten up on your diet! I replied I had already eaten a donut and ice cream that day, how much more should I lighten up? Plus side I had room for leftover cheesecake the next day.

Have it and enjoy. I have a diet Dew most days myself.

I'd stick with the original scale. I'm also unimpressed with my scale's supposed ability to tell me my bf%. It gives me large swings up and down on that number during a week.
-
Pain is a big motivator. My knee dislikes extra weight. 20 pounds here or there makes a surprising difference.
-
My scale goes up and down on fat readings by 10%. Part of it is how hydrated or sweaty I am at the moment. I believe it to be very inaccurate and prefer tape measure and the mirror.

You are in the right place, welcome to MFP
-
A teaspoon of cottage cheese really? How many calories is MFP claiming you are eating in a day? Your whole day looks like one meal. Except the cottage cheese, I eat many bites of that.
-
I feel like this is relevant information.

Apple cider vinegar gives a nice kick to certain soups. I wouldn't sign up for drinking it on its own, or as a water flavoring. I also don't bother adding lemon to my water. Still losing weight.
-
Time of day doesn't matter.

I know two women who disagree with that premise. One had to gain weight for a surgery and said it was incredibly difficult, she is used to drinking coffee all day and has a little appetite because of it. The other has dental problems and avoids eating due to the pain. I'm at peace with my moderation issue in comparison.

From a guess. Eat more protein and you should reach the calorie goal. Have a treat on occasion. Eat some earned exercise calories. And that 5 week estimate seems....ridiculous.
-
I do this. I manually set my MFP goal based on TDEE so I count my exercise manually at a minimum.
-
I'm 5'6" and flirting with a 199/200 lb weight right now. What is your daily calorie goal? What does your daily activity/exercise look like? My phone is saying your diary isn't open, if you open it we might be able to help out with common tracking errors.
-
Nope, you sound good to go! Don't cut too much, don't lose that 5 lb too fast. Best of luck!
-
Once you feel ready, have occasional treats and donuts with your kids. I speak from the experience of growing up in a large family with terrible cooks for parents (love them, though). When I got a job, moved out and discovered how delicious food could be I packed it in and on. Down 25 pounds since Christmas and eat portion…
-
I do a fast for religious reasons on occasion. Haven't lost more than 2 pounds and it doesn't stay off.
-
If it isn't true she shouldn't say it, of course. I presumed it from the comment about being in an average weight range but on the thin side. I could have misunderstood though, without detail hard to say. I just pulled her past posts and found her real age but no stats beyond that.
-
I don't suppose a chilly "My BMI is in the healthy range and my doctor is pleased. You will not bring this up again." Would work? Are they friends you can be blunt with?

When I am suffering from a depression episode I feel total apathy. Stuff isn't fun anymore, my favorite things seem gray and colorless and stupid. I don't care about anyone or myself . I want to enjoy my favorite book or hobby but all I can think is how it's a waste, I'm a waste, I'll end in a whisper and forgotten anyway,…

Sugar in milk. I just want to flip that one chocolate carton the right way...gah!
