  • 3422 days here. Looking forward t hitting my 10 year anniversary in January 2021.
  • It's too bad I didn't find this thread 30 minutes ago. I just ate a medium rare, well marbled ribeye with a tender cap that comprised about 65% of the steak.
  • I log in every day. I hit 965 days yesterday. I've been a vegetarian since July 2011 and have lost 69 pounds in total. Feel free to add me.

  • You can do this. When I started on MFP, I was 105 pounds overweight and had no idea what to do about it. Up until age 32, it seemed I could get away with eating anything. Even if I happened to gain a few pounds here and there, I was able to drop it in no time and with very little effort. Then I suffered a medical setback…
  • February 7th here. I want to lose 5 pounds between now and my birthday.
  • The entire "For British Eyes Only" storyline was hilarious, from start to finish. Especially when it dawns on Michael what MR F stands for.
  • I used to drink about 2 Liters a day of Diet A&W, my all time favorite soda. However, I haven't had a single soda since December 25, 2010, and I feel great. I think that not drinking soda has contributed greatly to not just losing the weight, but in keeping it off.
  • Don't get on the scale as often. You might be losing the weight slowly, but fast weight loss is rarely sustainable. I've been at it for 321 days, and I've lost almost 60 lbs. I have about 12 more pounds to go. For me, the trick has been to eat the right types of foods. Calorie counting means a lot, but also having the…
  • Don't let rude people get to you. The comment they made about you is really a comment on their own character. Instead of feeling discouraged, feel sorry for the person who doesn't have enough class to keep their nasty comments to themselves. Most importantly, don't let someone else's poor behavior cause you to give up on…
  • First of all, congratulations to both you and your husband on your weight loss. I've been dieting since January too, and I feel lucky to have found this site and this community. That said, maybe you should just let your neighbor know that you don't appreciate her efforts to derail you. explain to her why this is so…

  • It sounds like your body's trying to tell you something. I adjusted my calorie goals up after I lost my first twenty pounds, but I eat things that are high in fiber and protein, like baby spinach and sliced fresh pineapple. Also, Original Fiber One is a great filler because it's high in fiber, low in fat and has a low…
  • Is it possible for you to shovel snow? It's a really great workout, and if you bundle up really well, you'll sweat quite a bit.
  • I get my green tea capsules at Kroger or Walgreen's. I think the main thing to look for is the potency. I've looked at expensive brands like Mega T but the potency is about the same. Plus, stores like that typically have specials like buy one get one free.
  • I take green tea extract in pill form in conjunction with cranberry extract and milk thistle, and with my diet, I've lost 16 pounds in the last two and a half weeks. If you take green tea extract, just be sure to drink plenty of water (8 - 10 glasses a day).
  • Hello from the Southeastern corridor of Virginia. Sugar is definitely one of the major culprits for weight gain. At least it was for me. White starches (at least in excess) also knock me on my butt, so I try to stay away from them.
  • Hmmm... Well, that's the first time I've heard or read that anywhere. I'll have to do my research, but I will say that if I had a choice, I'd rather die suddenly from a heart attack than slowly from lung cancer or emphysema.
  • Well, starting at 9am I'm off for two days, so I plan to squeeze in a lot of physical activity. It's really cold here, so I'll probably wind up at the mall where I can have a good brisk walk indoors.
  • I started a topic just like this one last night. My challenge is that I'm only working the night shift for two days, then I go back to days. Either way, it's quite a challenge. I found that I have to count my calories ahead of time and pack what I plan to eat over a 12 hour shift. I packed a couple of low calorie…
  • I take it, but for the life of me I can't remember the brand right now. I'm at work. When I get home, I'll post the brand. I also take green tea extract, cranberry extract and milk thistle. Of course, I drink plenty of water with it (at least 10 glasses a day).I've definitely felt the effects in that I have way more energy…
  • For me, it's not worth it to "allow" myself a cheat day. I made a commitment to losing weight, not to anyone in particular, but to myself. If I start to get the urge to eat something I shouldn't, I take my shirt off and stand in front of the mirror. That usually kills the temptation to cheat.
  • Those who say it can't be done are usually interrupted by those doing it.
  • My initial plan was to weigh in once a week, but I've decided to get on every morning after I wake up. I feel more motivated to make smart choices during my day if I can see my progress and measure it against what I want to achieve.
  • Sounds good... I think I'll pick up some pita bread at the store. Thanks for the idea (-:
  • If you like turkey, Kroger has turkey thighs that turn out great in the slow cooker. Also, try something different with your chicken. I like to use my slow cooker, and sometimes I add a chopped up Roma tomato to whatever chicken I'm cooking and it turns out great. Good luck.
  • Thanks for all the answers. I was driving home this morning and had a craving for a tomato, so I had dinner for breakfast, so to speak. I also packed some rice cakes to snack on, and I brought six 16.9 ounce spring waters, an apple and three 220 calorie sandwiches. I go back to days this week, and hopefully I won't have to…
  • Congratulations! Good luck on reaching your midway point next Saturday. You've done really well so far, I'm sure you'll hit your target.
