First question, where can I get pitas (I believe that's what they're called) and how much do they cost?

Second, which is better for you? I'm assuming the pitas, but how filling are they?

Third, what kind of foods makes for a filling sandwich or pita?

Thanks!

For a quick fix stuffing a bagged salad in a PITA and putting a bit of your chosen dressing over it is tough to beat for a "fast food" on the run.

You can get white bread pita's and whole wheat ones so the white one is going to be worse for you etc. Look at the package when you get them, I find them in the bread aisle at any grocery store.

I do like pita because I can take my deli meat, shredded cheese etc and drop it in, it doesn't fall out the sides.. I don't have to remember to fold it a specific way like a tortilla shell either..

Pitas really can be used for any sort of sandwich in all honesty.

I stuff eggs in there for breakfast and I stuff deli meat with veggies in there for lunch. I have always loved pitas and definitely recommend it for a meal here and there. You can find them usually with the breads. At the grocery store I go to, there are regular pitas (probably of white flour) and wheat pitas. Some companies also offer "mini" pitas, which helps me curb how much I eat.

    Good luck.

I bought my pita's from Walmart in the bread aisle. I added the rotisserie chicken (breast), cucumbers and Greek cucumber and garlic yogurt..it was to die for. Reminded me so much of a gyro.

I was thinking about easy lunches to take to university when classes resume next month.
I had forgotten how good and versatile Pitas are!

I ate my first pita today and it was yummy! I'm thinking I might try to make a mini pizza with it sometime.

Sounds good... I think I'll pick up some pita bread at the store.

    Thanks for the idea (-:
