Short of interrogating her or following her around, I'm over 90% sure she's logging correctly. She's even upped her salad vegetable amounts to hit 100g each so it's simple to log. I've encouraged her to switch to semi skimmed milk, cook with a bit of oil etc. But that's not really the question. Should she go to maintenance…

Ah, my apologies; I go on Sedentary TDEE then add back exercise calories. Didn't realise it had a different name - thank you! :)
-
Thanks, but she measures things accurately already as she's used to doing that from the previous diet (and she uses the entries without asterisks for "standard" foods, unless she has the nutritional packaging in front of her for things like UHT milk which she can double check). Wednesday breakfast: 30g of Cornflakes, 100ml…

Maybe a Nestlé Milkybar? :D

Straight off... you walked at about 1.4mph... MFP says 2.5mph! (unless it's kph, at which point it would equate to 1.55mph) So immediately halve what MFP is telling you, or find an entry that's more accurate at 1.25mph or something (better to underestimate). There are websites out there that can work out, approximately…

There's also the (subconscious?) stress of having to take the pill at the same time every day, if that's the sort you're on... Have something like an IUD or Implant and you no longer have to worry, so you can immediately lose any stress related water retention. As for everything else, I don't pin anything on my BC habits,…

Could be carrots and peas! Until OP comes back to us with vitals, hold off on the bread. Although it may go mouldy, depending on when he returns :P
-
Why? He's probably getting enough carbs from the vegetables - sounds like the quantity you'd have doing Atkins induction, actually...
-
What are your vitals? Age, weight, height? We know your activity level, but what sort of workout is it? Cardio, strength, aerobic etc? Without knowing that, we can't really help! :)

BigT is correct. It should be: =((A2-A1)/A1)*100 :)

Can I ask where you read that? As far as I'm concerned, if you're used to fasting without water, it shouldn't do you any harm. Just try it for 4 weeks and see what happens! If you're losing weight (even if slower than you're hoping) you'll 1) still be losing weight and 2) still fasting for religious reasons. If you're not…

Other than shifting excess salt/water weight, I don't think there's an issue with not drinking water while religiously fasting/IF if you're used to it. Some fast days I drink 5 pints, other days I drink about 3 pints, but that's me not restricting my drinking throughout the day. When fasting religiously, it's continuous…

How much water do you drink? It may be a bit of water retention from the sudden exercise. If you're still eating below your target (and on which, have you re-evaluated your TDEE/BMR after losing the weight?) and measuring accurately, it's probably not fat going up! Absolutely brilliant loss by the way :D

I find hypnotherapy works *together* with something else... I haven't used it for weight loss, but I used it (and still do) for stress after a breakdown and to help me sleep. Hypnotherapy along with a calorie deficit/exercise (tried the affirmations while walking/running/cycling? Might be a good idea, too!) should, if it…

Feel free to add me :) I'm an Aldi-oh-I-should-probably-go-to-Tesco-cause-I-need-something-weird shopper :D Diary is open to friends and I'm always up for sharing random low-cal recipes :D

I follow 5:2 as I find only having to seriously restrict 2 days of the week is far friendlier (to me) than all 7 days. I do still count on my non-fast days, as I'm coming from overeating a lot (3000kcal average sort of thing) to the average for women of 2000kcal, so I find it good to keep myself in check. As for…

I use Hanson Digital scales (got them from B&Q cause they were about £15 and have a Union Jack pattern... I'm fickle) and they work great. Touch wood, had them for almost 2 years, and they haven't let me down yet. I think their models are around £15-20 on Amazon and they often have a 5-10 year guarantee on them.

I used to be on medication for depression before my doctor and I realised it was doing more harm than good (only took 5 years to notice!). Now, if I feel a huge downer coming on, which leads to comfort food, I try and occupy myself with something that *needs* doing. Not something you might want to do, but something that…

Thanks to everyone for the help :) It seems my confusion is because I'm British and the term "Sirloin" in the US is "Rump" in the UK! I think that's settled it Note: options were fillet, sirloin, rump or rib-eye. Rump seems to be the winner. QFT :P

So, you'd eat out maybe once a month? In that case, stuff it. Ignore your macros for 1 day (single digit!) and just try for calorie allowance. Heck, if even if that doesn't come into your allowance, just have it anyway and try not to feel guilty. It's once. It's a treat. Try and pick the healthier option but don't stress…

Try a hot drink rather than water when you've got pangs. Tea, coffee, even a cup of soup or something. You'll have to drink it slower and it might trick your stomach. As for being hungry an hour after you eat - not a good sign! Are you eating plenty of protein/a good mix of food types? I know 30 mins can be due to slow…
-
I eat based on hunger and how many hours since the last meal (and what that meal contained). For example, at the weekend I might eat lunch at 2pm... then feel hungry again at 4pm. I'll ignore it, have a hot drink, then eat some time after 6pm. If I'm still hungry at 6pm, that's when I eat, but often it's a case of eating…

I use Libra for my daily weight recording. Gives me a nice average and such too. Found it better than DroidWeight for daily weigh ins due to the moving average. Used DroidWeight for ages before deciding to record daily, and that's pretty good. You can track measurements/body fat with that one too. I used to use FatSecret…

Eat whatever you want *within your calorie allowance*. There are no rules about what you can/cannot eat on 5:2, just the amount of calories consumed. The rule is 2400kcal for 5 days, then 600kcal for 2 days (assuming you're male!) - that is the *general* rule. You should eat at your TDEE for the 5 days, and a quarter of…
-
Eat whatever, just fit it into your calorie allowance. As you get used to only being allowed 500/600kcal a day on fasting days, you learn what to pick. I started with a bit of fruit for lunch and then a simple dinner of salad. Now I opt for saving my full 500kcal for the dinner (minus drinks throughout the day of black…

I've never had a problem with weight gains, as my logic is, just because you've put on 0.5kg this week, you've still lost 10kg since you started it all (example). I think using your trend weight for calculations (TDEE/BMR etc) is a good idea. Never thought of that, thanks.
-
Sorry to hear about your situation :( I've heard that eating high sodium or high carb (or whatever your body hates the most) can cause water retention that can last over a week, maybe even 2. So going back to normal should put you straight back on track in about 2 weeks of the problem day(s). Just keep at your…

My Mum does Slimming World, and I tried it, but I'm afraid I really couldn't get along with it. It's a very psychological thing of "unlimited" white carbs/veg/fruit and then feeling guilty (syns... the name doesn't help) over eating a chocolate here and there. I hated having to stick to only 2 slices of wholemeal bread a…

I've just realised. When I'm on my Xbox Kinect, I ask it (nicely) to play movies etc for me. "Play" comes out as "Ply". I'm half Brummie so I have to put on an awfully posh accent for it to understand me. It can understand "The Borgias Series 3" but not "Play" *sobs*

Yeah, my default was Gros-Venor and Edin-Berg. Neither of which are right XD
