Exercise options that don't require shoes?
Hi; long story short, I can't walk for more than about 5 minutes due to a form of eczema, and due to the same reason I can't really wear shoes. So what sort of exercise could people recommend? Currently I'm thinking indoor cycling and free weights, but I want to do as much for the legs as possible. Thanks :)

Medication makes me insanely hungry... advice?
Hi all! The past year and a bit I've been on and off badly ill, and for the past 7 weeks or so I've been on a new medication. Problem is, this past 2 weeks I've been ravenously hungry. I had success with the 5:2 method of IF previously, losing around 20kg, which I have slowly put back on over the period of my illness, but…

Fasting lengths?
Hi new group! I started doing 5:2 back in March, lost a good amount of weight, but started letting off on it recently as the boyfriend moved in and 500kcals of the food we both like is about the size of a matchbox (and not the extra long type). So instead I've been fasting maybe once a week, losing weight still but…

Can people process "more" of certain macros than others?
Uhh, yeah, I'm probably wording this wrong... sorry in advance. So my boyfriend and I were talking last night and he believes that certain people, due to genetics or hormones or whatnot, can absorb more calories from certain things than others (from fat, protein and carbs). His thinking is that while 2 people may eat the…

How long before finding out if a calorie amount is "right"?
I've switched from IF (5:2 to be precise) to a fixed reduction in calories. This is so I can test if this way of eating suits me over IF. About how long is it before I know if this way of eating works for me? I'm thinking 2 weeks but it might be 4 weeks or it might be longer. I know everyone's different but I don't really…

Need some advice coming from very low calorie plateau
My Mum has started recording her food/calories on here after doing another diet for a long while, where she has stopped losing weight. Although not a brilliant measure of the weekly average, Wednesday she had 784 calories and yesterday was 973. I'm guessing this is about the same, if not more, than she was eating before.…

Which steak has the lowest kcal value?
I can't seem to find non-asterisked entries in the database for this, unless I'm looking under completely the wrong things... Trying to decide which cut of steak, at 100g/3.5oz, has the lowest kcal value. Other internet sources keep giving me different numbers, so I'm really not sure, and I'm obviously blind when looking…

Do you use trend weight or actual weight for reference?
I use Libra on my phone and log my weight every day, which gives me a trend value (estimated goal date, etc) and I know there are other apps that do the same. So when you're talking about how much weight you've lost in a month, or a year, or whatnot, do you refer to your trend weight, or the weight at that moment in time?…

Weekly average calories below BMR?
Hi all My weekly average is currently hovering around the 1500kcal mark (bit less 2 weeks ago, bit more last week, etc) and, according to my current weight, that's around 350kcal less than my BMR. I'm losing around 1kg-1.5kg a week, which I think is just from the first few weeks of calorie counting. Should I up my calories…

At home strength exercises?
Long story short, I don't have money for the gym and I'd prefer not to (yet) buy any exercise equipment, at least for about 3 months before I can save enough for something and guarantee I'll keep the exercise up! So, what can I do to improve strength at home? Using can of beans as basic dumbbells? Something simple to get…

"At Home" Health Measurements to Do
This a simple one; what sort of measurements can you do, at home*, to monitor your health/fitness while dieting? I'm UK so the NHS won't always do things like blood tests without reason, and it's difficult for me to get to a surgery during opening hours, so being able to monitor things at home would be very useful. I have…
