Is there any form of weights (preferably without a cost outlay, but then again, health saves you money in the long run) that I can do for my legs? Or would that be body weight calisthenics style things, maybe with ankle weights?

Not really sure on macro content (as haven't been watching that personally for a while) but what about a salad with a couple of boiled eggs? You can always add in another protein then too (canned tuna, leftover shredded chicken etc) and change up the "base" salad depending on cost/seasonal/preference. Nothing wrong with…

Just avoid any Finders factories and it's a best seller! :D

That's really interesting! I had great success with 5:2 year before last (got ill, had to stop, the method was brilliant though when I could do it) but, as you have pointed out, sometimes it's a struggle to "just" fast for 2 days. I have to track calories on a non-fasting day as else I can easily eat about 3000 calories,…

I think the ticker people add to their post is done manually - don't think it's been auto for a year or two now.

I just felt like repeating myself because I'm possibly the only one who hasn't been quoted and I'm feeling left out...

While you may think people are being negative, by stating what happens to most people, in most cases, they're just letting you know what may eventually occur - that way, it won't come as a shock/annoyance/upset. They're trying to be helpful by ensuring you're not caught out - friendly and helpful advice from seasoned MFP…

How about savoury (vegan) cupcakes? Like courgette or tomato/basil? Easy to transport, easy to eat, and you could always take some sort of chutney style things to spread on them? Put in fibre sources too to fill up on so you don't eat too many?

Different ways of presenting the food can also make a difference if you are forced to guess (which, as mentioned, shouldn't be done but is sometimes inevitable). 30g of cheese, a serving, looks pitiful as a block... but grated it can easily cover a sandwich - and it's not many calories difference to get the strongest…

I struggle with a few things and, while it wasn't while I was recording as accurately as I used to (and am now doing again), I found them helpful... Simple things, that take a bit of time, like cooking dinners. Do you have freezer space? Try and double up a recipe or two, that you know you like and can freeze, and shove…

Oops, sorry, I didn't refresh between loading and posting, so I missed the replies from the really experienced users :) Have you used the recipe function? It's very handy as you can then reuse the recipes, and it's split into servings. Cannot recommend it enough for accuracy and ease of use.

Hi! Had a glance at your diary... you have a lot of quick add calories. What are those for, exactly?
-
Thank you for your advice and honesty, Lorib!

I'm sorry that you had a bad time, Nadler - thank you very much for the advice and luck :) Thanks Ilex. I had a look at what doctors recommend with this sort of medication and, against what I would've thought, it says to avoid protein as it can actually lower the effectiveness! I might alternate my meals and do high…

*Waves* I'm back after finally getting an illness under control, in which I have gained back the 16kg I lost last time (16kg in 16 months or so... could've been a lot worse), but my previous IF method won't work now, so full on calorie counting is starting :) Aiming to lose around 40kg overall, but will take whatever I can…

Thanks for the link :) (I get a little notification in the corner... that's a new one!) I haven't actually even tried logging calories at the moment with this going on. But I think trying to start logging at maintenance is a good idea, as then the level of hunger I feel (if any) would be the "natural" level rather than the…

It has no doubt been said in various different ways, but when someone who is a healthy weight with a healthy appetite says "Just eat what you want but eat less of it"... yeah, that works, as long as you haven't first got enough of a sugar reliance that you would sell your grandmother for a Terry's Chocolate Orange (Note: I…

I saw this link a while ago (good selection, and the links take you to other blogs with even more recipes, so it's a good starting point): http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11/26/slow-cooker-recipes_n_1029031.html #1 Rule of Crockpots/Slow Cookers - DO NOT put frozen meat in there. Because it heats so slowly, it's…

So far, my 2 cats and 2 biiiig bags of cat food. Thanks for posting this, it's really made me realise that loss is more than just a number!

Is it true weight you're looking to lose or to do a body recomp? If it's the latter (as you say you're at a healthy weight), I'd probably suggest doing strength exercises (body-weight or lifting) as that will trim and tone, unlike dieting. Someone else will know how to go about doing a body recomp better than me, but if…

Just under 120kg (265lbs)... BMI of 41, yikes :/ BMI was almost twice my age when I was that weight (bad relationship related) Dropped over 20% of that now. 13.5% in the past 8 months. Aiming for 40% loss overall... :)

Are your friends married to your husband? Pretty sure as you're the one who's been with him for 9+ years, you'd know more than them what to buy him!

Your TDEE according to my calculations on IIFYM is 2175. The BMR is 1582. If you can 100% say, hand on heart, you are measuring everything accurately, aim to eat 1600kcals a day and see how it goes for 2 weeks.

^^ Yeah, she addressed that (no worries, there's a lot of stuff to trawl through :) ) Exercise calorie eating back has been talked about too, as she was eating the full amount (knocking it down to 50% may well help) I'm answering OP related questions again. My apologies

If we're assuming it's only the fruit that's incorrect (as, like I said, all other dictated serving sizes in the UK are in grams) unless she's getting through 10 apples a day it wouldn't cause such a huge discrepancy. I'm sad, I measure my fruit with a ruler, then weigh them, then compare the calories for both according to…
-
We're lucky in the UK that our serving sizes are dictated by weight, so by following the pack(s) and using a food scale, unless it's a hybrid weight/ml thing like ketchup, we tend to be alright. Point is valid but OP has addressed this question already (and when it comes to fruit, unless it's a hugely high calorie item,…

I'm going to nitpick here, but what you mean is "muscle is more dense than fat" - 1lb of muscle weighs the same as 1lb of fat, it just takes up more less space. (Edited cause I am a muppet) Sorry, just be careful saying that round here. It's an error that can get some people jumping on you
-
Have you considered doing a "manual reset" as I call it - ie, eating at your TDEE for maintenance (stick it at 3 exercises per week, or equivalent) for a while? You will probably gain weight, but it *should* (in theory) stop after around 2 weeks. Then when you drop back down to TDEE -20%, it should start moving again.…
-
Oh, another thing. Don't trust one website for TDEE/BMR and whatnot. I use IIFYM (http://iifym.com/tdee-calculator/) along with the Fast Diet website and a few others. Then I take an average... I work on "couch potato" but I worked out I'm actually between that and light exercise (I like numbers so I calculated it myself).…

EDIT: just seen your response Don't eat all the exercise calories back if you can. Try and aim for 50% or so - they're not hugely accurate and better to underestimate in that case.
