Congratulations! You probably have "the bug" now - hopefully this will be the first of many! And really cool medals!

I haven't found it to be super accurate on a treadmill, but at least you can get some credit for the treadmill running. You have to hold your phone in your hand while you run. It calculates your distance based on your cadence, which only gave me credit for about 0.75 to 0.8 miles per mile that the treadmill showed.

Request sent! I run anywhere from as little as 20 miles/month to as much as 70 miles/month depending on a work schedule that obviously varies a lot. Anyone feel free to add me - screen name is markfender

I started using Nike+ about two months ago and I have really enjoyed it. My screen name is markfender. Anyone who would like to, feel free to add me as a friend on Nike+ and/or on MFP

Started using Nike+ about a month ago, and really enjoying it. Not super accurate on the indoor/treadmill workout for me, but the only app I have found that will even attempt to track those. I try to get in at least 12 miles a week, but a busy stretch of time coming up for the next couple of months will make that…

Congratulations! I'm glad that you have made this change at that it has been a positive experience for you. Keep up the great work!

My advice in this matter as in so many other is this: Listen to your body. I finally retired a pair of running shoes just over a year ago with over 850 miles on them - that's 850 miles of running. I have another pair that I haven't offically retired, but doubt I will ever wear them to run again, and they only have 320…

You have gotten great advice in the replies to your post. Hope you really have a great time - what a great way to celebrate your amazing weight loss! Congratulations! I ran my first HM this past Saturday, and the ONLY thing that I did on the race that I hadn't done in training was to take water at the waterstations.…

You've been active for a month - I'm sure by now you know that your active lifestyle is here to stay, so I would say "change it now." 24 lbs lost is great progress, so I would think that you have earned the right to change it.

I am ready to work my a** off to get abs like yours

Running my first HM this Saturday, so I was glad to see your questions and the answers from sjp. Rather than gels, I have been taking gummi LifeSavers with me on my long runs (a suggestion from someone here on MFP), just to replace some of the sugars I burn during over an hour of running. I think that's great if you want…

@ bella - the Diet Pepsi girl (sorry, terrible with celeb names).

I realize that this thread was about warming up, not stretching, but I have to ask about this - I must be doing this all backwards. I always stretch before I run, and almost never after a run. I do "cool down" after a run, most of the time with a walk, sometimes with a slow jog, but I hardly ever stretch afterward. I'm in…

Don't guess I have an answer for you - as I have been increasing my mileage, I also have seen my weight jump after my long runs, but unlike you, I know mine is a result of my eating - I have been really "rungry" after the long runs. All I can say is I get it - I understand the frustration, more so for you since you can't…

^^^^ That ^^^^^. And if/when you get tired of that, move on to something else. Even though I don't follow my own advice very well (I do very little to workout other than run), I'm convinced that the more variety you put in your workout routine, the better overall results you will get. Good luck!

I wish - I would love to find a workout buddy too, but the commute from TX would be pretty rough... Hope you find someone to workout with!

Pretty smile for you too! 8.9

I hope you were talking about my wife...

Hard to tell with the sunglasses, but I'm gonna say Ariel

I love endomondo - I really like the feature that lets me see where on my run was my fastest km, my fastest mile, etc. There is an endomondo group on MFP as well, I have several endomondo friends that have added because of the MFP group.

Sorry, that was for BigDougie. @ puffyheart, Pocohantas for sure

I wish I had the answer for you - my wife goes through the same thing when she starts to add exercise to her diet, and often it causes her to get discouraged and she doesn't stay with the exercise. And (I know this seems really unfair), it seems like men's weights respond more readily than women's do - don't really know…
