Gosh. Why would anyone chose a picture that's not of them! This pic is the spitting image of what I see in the mirror! ;)

My experience has been that at a good running store, they'll sort that out for you. They should watch you run to examine your gait, any sort of pronation, etc and will make some recommendations.

sounds delicious! any idea approx where the macros are per cup?

No. You've been very lucky. It's normal weight fluctuations. As long as you don't really freak out, it may be a useful exercise to weigh in daily and record in a spreadsheet. You'll get used to seeing your weight fluctuate up and down.

Did you eat 10,500 (3500 x 3) calories over maintenance? If not, then you did not gain 3lbs. You are still at a deficit at 1400-1500 calories. You've been very lucky to have had really linear weight loss. It's ok. It will come off in a few days. Just drink lots of water.

definitely this. quality over quantity. :) maybe better, more expensive beers will help curb the amount you drink as well. lots of really good suggestions to choose from.

Slow down your drinking. Sip it - don't gulp. Try to really focus on the taste in each sip. Then switch to water after your allotted beer. I could easily eat a box of chocolates in 1 sitting but I've learned to stretch out 1 chocolate truffle for a while. It's become *almost* as satisfying. ;) Alternatively, you could just…

Hard to say when your diary isn't open. But generally, try to stick to unprocessed foods. Also get adequate protein - chicken breast, fish, lean beef etc - and fat. Protein, fats, and carbs all play a role in satiety. Take a look at the food guidelines here. This should help you a great deal.…

Welcome! Here's a really great guide to weight loss. It dispels ALL sorts of myths! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants As for dehydration, I set water goals for myself. I have a 3 cup water bottle that I use every day. At first, when I wasn't even drinking 6…

Why would you take progress photos every 2 weeks? Try 1x/month or 1x/2months. It will be far less discouraging and way more representative of your progress.

No. Stop with the CLA and supplements. There is no fast fix or pill that will get you what you want. You need to lose fat and retain muscle. That is no simple task. Listen to STroutman. He's a bit of an expert around here. Also read the guide to sexy pants (SideSteel and Sarauk2sf are also experts around these parts). It…

omg yes this will happen. not only will i be more than happy to save 300-600 calories for this but i think DH might just keel over and die of happiness. :)

this thread is so full of awesome.

Totally true story. In one of my more "shy" moments, I was waiting for the rack without saying anything. One of the guys in the area asked if I was waiting for the rack. He then talked to the guy using the rack and negotiated getting me in next. :)

uhhh yeah. THIS^^^. the freeweight section of my gym is full of super built guys and the occasional girl (and i'm pretty sure the girls are competitive lifters). i'm quite inexperienced and lift basically nothing in comparison but everyone's been super nice - AND i've been super nice to them! sometimes i do my OHP in the…

What an incredibly sweet story!! I have to agree with you too. After a many disastrous, failed relationships, I spent some time figuring out me, what I wanted, what I needed, and what I could accept (no one is perfect!!). I didn't meet husband until I was happy with who I was. My husband and I met online and we just…

Lots of reasons. To stop hiding behind my arms and others or have get into that "skinny pose" in pics. So when my husband calls me his "hot wife", I actually believe him. So my husband starts bragging about his "hot wife" to his friends all the time like he used to. To feel comfortable in my own skin again. To love wearing…

.... you serious bro?

DEFINITELY THIS! Small changes. Reasonable goals (none of this 1200cal or less and exercising 5-7 days/week nonsense).
-
One of my awesome MFP friends helped me reframe my thinking. Everything you do is a reflection of your priorities. Start thinking that way. Whenever you don't feel like going to the gym you are implicitly saying - Sitting around is a higher priority than my health today. When you decide to eat within your calorie goals you…

You gain weight when you've eaten 3500 calories OVER what you actually burn daily. So for example, maybe you burn 2000 calories/day on average. In order for you to gain 1 lb of weight, you'd have to eat 2500 calories every day for a week. One day of over eating wouldn't do that. Back to our example - you'd have to eat 5500…

Seriously bump. I'm so excited you posted this. I can't wait to try these recipes. I want to eat more vegetarian/vegan foods and this was the inspiration i needed! :)

Ditto.

all the things i do have already been suggested. (on an english muffin, w/ tabasco, w/pineapple, replacement for ricotta in lasagna, mixed with pasta sauce, etc). but there are so many great ideas!! must BUMP!

yes. it's really just rude otherwise.

eh. i wouldn't get too insulted. gay guys flirt/hit on my husband all the time. we both see it as a really awesome compliment. except for that one guy that asked my husband to "go to the bathroom" with him... knowing that i was standing next to my husband in a different conversation. some people are just opportunists or…

Precisely. (I'm going to add good data is always good data - but sometimes it lacks proper controls too!)
