Cardio can only do so much. Try doing one of the Jillian Michaels videos in the a.m. in addition (or instead) of your run. 30 Day Shred or Ripped in 30 are under 30 minutes. I bet you would see a big difference. I also need to keep my sugars to a minimum, even if my cals are low, to see a difference.

Today I started with 30 Day Shred Level 3 and then did my own hybrid on the elliptical with circuits of my fav Jillian moves. Hope everyone has a great day!

I'm in! I do have a trip in a couple weeks that may be a challenge to keep to the program. I will do extra on the days when I am home. :)

Absolutely, I have been there. I completely relate. I've never logged my binges, but I'm sure that they would land in the 3000+ range as well. I am currently working on losing the same 5 pounds that I have lost twice before. Blah! I'm not sure how to kick the cycle - but it has helped that I have increased my cals a bit…

I love high quality stevia. I don't like using any other fake sweeteners for health reason. Then I use 2 tbsp 1/2 and 1/2. It's sweet and creamy....and I don't mind the 40 calories and 3 grams of fat that I need to record. WELL worth it to have my morning pick-me-up!

You look great! Keep it up!

I have 3 little ones and I started my fitness journey in August. I live on a farm and don't have the ability to go to a gym, nor do we have great roads to run/walk on. So - we invested in a nice elliptical for cardio and I have been focused on using Jillian Michael's dvds 5-6 days per week. I started with 30 Day Shred and…

I can't get my pics to load! Bummer! I can see a huge difference in photos I took on October 6 compared to today. Hooray! Stats: Down 3 pounds (although it is a really bad time of the month for a weigh in today...) 1/2 inch off of my hips, waist and each thigh I can run without thinking about it now, which is huge for me!…

I did day one of week 4 today and really liked it (technically, I have done Ripped 6 days every week, just two weeks of level 2). I felt it was a much better workout than week 3 and enjoyed some of the moves....just not the scissor kicks. I'm planning to do week 4 for 5 more days just to make myself feel legit. My…

Hi everyone. I've been off the radar as I welcomed my new nephew into the world this past Tuesday. We live a few states away and I was happy with my workouts but not so much with eating. I am really struggling today. Here's my recap: I started week 3 last Monday and injured my neck on the "rock-n-roll" move. It really…

To reply regarding 30 Day Shred compared to Ripped - I think the Shred was a great place to start for me. It was challenging and I got used to the 3-2-1 circuits. I really enjoyed it and will do it again in the future. Ripped is more of a workout for me. If I had started with it, I may have been discouraged! So overall,…

Lacking in energy today, but pushed through. Seeing small results physically make me motivated to keep going! I am able to do more of her ab moves than before. Those are my biggest challenge! My least favorite quote has to be everything surrounding the quarter bouncing off of the bum topic. That entire section makes me…

I still looked like a fool today, but the sweat was pouring! My yoga experience is helping with many of the balance moves. The 2 minutes in cardio plank are killing me! I thought my shoulders were strong.... My bring it move? I would say story raises and side lunges with a lift. Kickin' it. I also need to remember that…

Wow! Week 2 is intense! So, what's in store for next week???? I had a great sweat and really enjoyed it! I'm sure I looked like a fool, but oh well. I'm with you Daffy, I think my arms are too short for the ab raises...that was interesting!

I'm loving my rest day! I did 30 minutes on the elliptical to keep me moving, but slept in and enjoyed the extra rest! Looking forward to week 2 starting tomorrow!

I love this video! I feel great when it's done and really hungry - so that must mean I am burning something! My hamstrings are still tight but better than earlier in the week. Love the leg workout. Is it sad that the running man is really hard for me? I feel like I want to do it for 10 seconds and quit. Happy Friday!

I'm in! I completed 2 rounds of 30 Day Shred with great results and have been really excited for a new challenge. Started Ripped yesterday and thought it was easy, until I woke up with burning hamstrings this morning! Day 2 went well and was challenging enough. I have to say, I like the slightly shorter 30DS workout for…

I love level 3. I mean, really love it. :) I moved on early this week because I was tired of 2. My huge accomplishment for this week was that I dropped below 140 for the first time that I can remember. I always thought I was meant to weigh more and it would never happen. I am thrilled! I have also dropped .5 inches in my…

L2D5 done! I can't believe that I actually feel like quitting during the workout and this is my second month doing it. I think it is more mental than anything. Are others taking break days? I realized that I have had a good workout in everyday since July 25 and this is pretty silly (I do about 60-90 minutes per day). I…

D2L2 today and I was yawning for the first 5 minutes trying to kick myself to get going! I guess doing the workout at 5:30 a.m. will do that to me on occasion. Glad I stuck with it. I forgot how much harder this level is for me than L1. Happy shredding!

Just finished D10L1 and looking forward to moving on again. Although, I just remembered that L2 kicked my rear last time......oh well. It will be nice to have some new moves again. I use 5 pound weights on all the exercises now, except for the anterior raises - still need 3 pounders for those!
-
I was out of town for 3 days and brought the video and weights with me. I was able to watch it on my laptop and not miss a day - which made me very happy! I find level 1 much easier now, but still struggle with the anterior arm raise like many have stated. I have to say that my arms are really strong now! For those who are…

Had a good day with exercise, but a hard day with food. I'm on L1D2 (round 2) and kicked up the weights - so my arms are sore tonight! I'm heading out of town for the weekend which makes me nervous on how to keep my intake in check. I will still make the workouts happen. Also, I'm doing a no dessert and no chips month…

Started round 2 of the 30DS today and I'm feeling great. I forgot how much I like L1! I used hand weights on moves that are slightly easier now. It felt great. I definitely echo what others have said about taking measurements and photos. It took several weeks before my weight started to budge, so you need to stay motivate.…

Done! Whoohoo! Thanks for all the motivation. Here's my report: Lost 9.2 pounds and at least 4 inches (I wasn't the best at taking lots of measurements in the beginning..) but my clothes are very loose, which is pretty fun. I've had many people comment on my physical changes. I'm definitely motivated to keep going! As far…

What is your total intake? Most people shouldn't re-eat the calories they burn in a workout - or maybe just half. As long as you are getting at least 1200, you should be fine.
-
Congratulations and Happy Birthday! You look fantastic!

One more day until 30 days in a row! I have never stuck with anything this long before, so thanks for the thread. I'll post final weight and measurements tomorrow, then I'm off for one more round of 30 DS before starting Ripped in 30 for October. I'm so happy to finally be motivated to exercise!
