I'm not clear on your goal. Tell us what you mean by "overall fitness"? Are you looking to build/maintain muscle? Tone your look? Stay flexible? That can mean a lot of things.

I'd agree with the fuller, longer comments. Plus - it's just so delicious, why not have it? The majority of my calories come from protein and fat. Keeps me full.

Just walking really helps me.. doesn't need to be a strenuous workout. Also really any type of activity.. I find just sitting there (like watching TV) is harder. Play with kids / dog / spouse?

I can't fathom it has anything to do with chemicals stored in fat, that sounds pretty hinky to me. Really - lots of folks are sick and not washing their hands / sneezing on machines / sweating all over, etc. If you're worried about getting sick - wipe the machines down before you use them.

A calorie is a calorie.. doesn't matter if it's protein, sugar etc. as relates to fat loss. If you have room in your plan for some sweets - have some. Don't let the "sugar scare" keep you off of it. I'm the same height as you.. for me, I go through fits and starts. I sometimes see a difference of just a pound or two, other times 10 lbs goes by and I don't see a thing. How are your clothes fitting? Have you taken any measurements? I'd suggest doing that, it helps you to see your progress over time.

If you don't eat back your exercise cals, that helps, but the overall equation is the same. Seems that calories in = calories out. Do you use a food scale to measure your food? Do you track everything that you eat? How often do you have "cheat days" or "cheat meals"? All of this plays a role. The figure of 10%…

It's hard, I'll give you that. When I went on a cruise, I tried to make sure I increased my overall activity (read: walked a ton) and also tried to have lots of fruit / veggies with each meal. I did find a nice create your own stir-fry station, that one made things a lot easier.

Maybe just lots of sick folks at your gym? I know at my gym, if I stop and look around I see people sneezing, blowing noses etc. I'd try wiping down equipment before you use it - lots of people don't wipe down at all, makes the gym one big petri dish.

I waited until I was at goal. I chatted about it with my artist, and he said that was the way to go - better to fit the tattoo to where you are, skin is all in the right place, etc. Plus - it made a great reward for me!

Agreed. Also want to add - no one can give you the motivation to do this, it needs to come from within. Try writing down your goals and your reasons for those goals. Don't feel like going to the gym today? Take out what you've written and read it.
