  • Without more information it's hard to answer the question accurately. Prior to eating the correct number of calories were you extremely low in your intake? If you weren't eating enough to start with and then you adjusted to correct, it will take your body time to adjust to the extra food. But, it will adjust, and the…
  • Have you logged in your information and set a goal? MFP will give you a daily calorie goal based on your current info. It won't break it down in to portion size or quantity of meals, but I find having a daily goal gives me a starting point. I'm currently trying to do 3-4 400 calorie meals and a couple of lighter snacks,…
  • Just remember slow and steady wins the race... it's far healthier to lose 1-2 pounds a week than it is to lose alot more. You're more likely to keep the weight off long term if it's lost in a healthy manner. And 2 pounds is a good start, so give yourself a pat on the back!!! Good job!
  • Good luck... just remember, slow and steady wins the race. I'm not a patient person, so I have to keep reminding myself of that all the time. Eat enough to feed your body, and don't beat yourself up for days you don't think you did so well.
  • Erik is right, unfortunately you can't target a specific area.... it gets taken from the easiest place. It's beyond me to understand why it's not my stomach or my jlo booty.... I always lose in the chest first. I think my stomach and rear start getting firmer when I start exercising, leaving the chest as one area that I…
  • It's an AWESOME first step. Keep up the fantastic work!!!

  • My first attempt at making gravy in my 20's for my hubby was a disaster. It was a big ball of flour in the skillet. I was mortified. I love to cook, and I would be happy to share recipes and help you learn how to cook. PM me or friend me if you'd like some yummy easy recipes. Alicia
  • 3 oz. of meat is about the size of the palm of your hand, or a deck of cards.
  • I'm in the same boat, but when I went back and looked at the numbers and did the math, I realized not only was I not anywhere close to my target range, but with the exercise and calories burned, I was barely at 1000 most days, and never above 1100. I've added more food, aiming for better complex carbs and fruits and…

  • you might think the comment abut junk food triggering a loss is weird, but I've noticed that if I'm really strict and keeping to the healthy eating, it sorta plateaus and then I'll have a "junk food" meal and I'll be sure that when I weigh I'll have gained only to find I lost something.... weird. Our bodies are smarter…
  • ooooh... that sounds totally yummy!!!
  • That is hilarious.... isn't a good feeling when the workout pants are too big? I have to keep tugging my sweats up too... they've gotten loose enough that I keep tripping on them... LOL.
  • I do the Wii game Just Dance 2, the wii fit plus strength training, and I just ordered the Gold Gym's Dance workout game. I'm also starting a Tae Kwon Do class tomorrow. If you are joining a gym, the elliptical is one of my fav machines, and I'd see what kind of class they offer... some offer zumba or an aerobics class of…
  • you could have a tsp of a mix of nutella and peanut butter, mixes chocolate and peanut butter taste. I have that on a whole wheat waffle, like having a reece cup... and I agree with the person who said this isn't an all or nothing diet... you can't deprive yourself of indulgences or you will end up binging, just gotta…
  • I've had it too while I'm dancing. I dance barefoot, so I'm not sure why it happens. I thought maybe because I was on my tip toes the whole time. I notice that I put most of my weight on my toes, I think it's from staying on my toes while I referee. It makes it easier to take off in a sprint when the ball goes flying up…
  • Just do some intense cardio, like dance around your living room for an hour. You'll burn those extra calories plus some in no time.
  • I can tell you from my experience, and everyone is different.... but I was under 1000 a day, not exercising like a maniac, just basic moving around, and lost weight fine for about 2 weeks. Then, gained 5 in a week. Did alot of reading, and realized I was in survival mode. Went to freedieting.com and used their calculator…
  • I didn't see facebook. LOL... kidding. I haven't downloaded Angry Bird, but I hear it's a good one.
  • Well, now I'm on a roll. LOL Water: How much should you drink every day? Water is essential to good health, yet needs vary by individual. These guidelines can help ensure you drink enough fluids. By Mayo Clinic staff How much water should you drink each day? It's a simple question with no easy answers. Studies have…
  • Water intoxication or hyponatremia (a.k.a. “hyperhydration” or “water poisoning”) occurs when a person takes in more water than his or her body can get rid of (e.g., by sweating or through urine). Bodily fluids become diluted by the extra water, and the person’s electrolytes get severely out of balance.
  • According to Wikipedia, the water intoxication occurs after having consumed LARGE quantities of water in SHORT periods of time. If you are consuming it throughout the day, and using the bathroom as well, then it's probably safe. If you are doing intense cardio, and haven't hydrated well beforehand, then become dehydrated…
  • And don't forget to breathe. I always forget that, and then realize I was holding my breath concentrating so hard. LOL. Dancing is lots of fun, and good exercise too.
  • wow... 12.5 hours at a control board. That's rough. I love the elliptical, wish I had one. I have a wii and dance every night. It's a blast, I compete with myself trying to better my scores. 2 hours will go by before I know it. Oh, and go to http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm to calculate how many…
