I am trying to make changes to my lifestyle. I have been very unsuccessful with dieting in the past. I guess the key word there is "dieting." I know now that being successful in weight loss is more about changing my lifestyle AND EXERCISE! I get really bad migraines and exercise sometimes triggers them. When that happens, I make myself believe that I can't exercise for a while because I might get another one. It's a vicious cycle of excuses.

I was always so busy with work and school that I made excuses for not staying in shape. Now that I started law school, I am doing the same thing. Last semester, I exercised very little and consumed quite a bit of calories without even thinking about it. "I'm busy," I said, "How can I be expected to exercise too?" I need that combo of bad habits to change. I love food. I think about what I am going to eat next all the time. I want this "addiction" to stop.

I'm here now. I want to bring people into my weight loss journey so I can be accountable.

I am 5'1" and weigh 157 pounds. I hope to eventually be down to 120.

I hope that joining myfitnesspal helps me reach my goals, and that I can meet people in situations similar to mine. :p

Liza :)

Good luck on your journey. This site and the people here have helped me tremendously. I love that everyone is so willing to answer questions and offer encouragement.

You may try starting off slow with the exercise and see if you can do it with out getting the headaches. I'd also suggest you talk to your physician. Maybe he/she can offer you some advice.

my bouncing aerobic days are over!
maybe yoga or pilates or something less jarring is where you need to start.
or maybe stretching, or a walk in the fresh air first before exercising will help with those headaches.
just remember to breathe & dont clench those teeth when working out!
i hope you find something that works for you.
    good luck!

It's funny that you mention it....I have a really bad habit of clenching my teeth! I have to make a real effort to relax my jaw. Walking does seem to be the best option for me so I am starting there. I can't really do aerobics because I have absolutely no coordination! haha
    Thanks for the advice! :)

And don't forget to breathe. I always forget that, and then realize I was holding my breath concentrating so hard. LOL. Dancing is lots of fun, and good exercise too.
