My daughter's home made white choc cheesecake with raspberries. Oh poo. Now I want some.

Somerset calling. Not far from Bridgwater. Thinking I may be alone in that one!

Know exactly where you're coming from. I watch way too much of all of the cooking programmes. When I got a bit bored the other day I cooked apple cake and weetabix cake. Hope my sons finish them soon. I just found a yummy looking recipe for cheesecake which I shall try tomorrow. My lucky sons (both very fit and active and…

You said what I thought, only probably better than I would have done. I actaully like hearing that people think I'm slim. It makes me feel better and helps keep me motivated to stay that way!

You have done sooo well, best of luck to you.

Gentleman on page 4....wow. nice post!

Hi, you are so not alone, as you will discover having joined this site. You have made the first step, and once you get yourself thinking, the changes can be taken at your own pace. Do what works for you, maybe by making healthy choices, smaller portions and walking more. Once the weight starts falling the motivation…

mercina22 I love the look of your quiche.

When I go to bed with my cup of coffee and final treat (usually a flump or little chocolate.) That signals the end and sleep.

I am becoming a fan. Read this, acknowledging how much sense it makes, and am grateful for how straightforwardly you write. Thanks.

Do not take my word as gospel. as I am not great with technical OR exercise. But from reading up recently it seems that most people doing videos such as Jillian Michaels log it as "circuits". What might work is to catagorise the type of workout, and log the time spent as that. Be wary though, several people on here reckon…

I read it and recognised it. You hit several nails nicely on the head and it''s a shame not everyone bothers to read something on which they feel obliged to comment! This life change is a big pain in the rear end, and the sooner I reconcile myself to the idea that I'm not required to complete a journey, just to keep…

If you have time and inclination make a big pot of soup, portion it into freezable containers then get one out and defrost/microwave whenever. Works for me!

All 3 glasses totalled probably less than 300 cals. Doesn't sound that bad to me. :drinker:

Nope. Eat when you're hungry. Don't eat if you're not hungry. Stop eating when you've had enough. Easy. (Just wish I could remember to take it! lol)

Love them. In things (omlettes, stews, bakes) on things (toast, crusty bread) under things (with tomato sauces, etc) and even dipped in salsa or garlic mayo for an evening treat. They don't need fat to heat (microwave briefly before piling on toast or whatever) and there are so many types to try. When I walk the dog in the…

Your best friend is going to be Google. My diary is open if you want to look, although I am far from inventive. Recommend skinnytaste, bbc.co.uk, allrecipes sites. It's not that hard to find stuff. Use more pulses, eg chick peas, kidney beans... Curries are an easy bet. Jacket potatoes stuffed with anything you like. Good…

I'm in the UK. I'm 5ft 6in, weigh 8stone 7lb (But I'm working on it!) In my wardrobe I have clothes which are size 10, 8, 6 and (my favourite) GAP size 0 jeans. Explain that?????

I'm vegetarian, have been for over 30 years. Diary is open (I think) if not, friend me (anyone!) I'm not much of a cook, well, not very varied, but I do have the odd moment of brilliance.

Has to be the real deal Marmite, not store's imitations or vegemite. Spread on Ryvita, toast, celery, with cucumber in a sandwich... possibilities are endless. I also drink it. One teaspoon in hot water works like soup when you're in a need for savoury. :drinker:

Kelloggs All Bran is good on different levels, fibre, filling, tasty... (I actually like it without the milk too) But porridge works best.

http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2009/12/09/beginner-body-weight-workout-burn-fat-build-muscle/ I am in a similar position to you, and found this site. It looks straightforward to me, and even I understood what he was explaining! Good luck.

Chocolate cake with strawberry and fresh cream filling. Could eat that for ever. Trouble is, when I make it I do!

I like porridge made with skimmed milk/water and made in the microwave. I add strawberries and blueberries a couple of mins from the end and it's yummy!

Hopefully this is my tea this evening. My version of a vegetable and veggie sausage fritatta.

I think mine is open, if you need to friend me first that would be lovely too! I am reasonably consistent and always need friends! Good luck with it all :drinker:

This ^^ I am a size 6-8 (UK) and don't want my wobbly tummy skin showing. Mind, I am 51 and feel that age doesn't sit too well in a bikini!

With you all the way on this one. Liking the pilates idea, currently doing a class once a week and know this isn't enough, so think I'll try the ad break idea. I also have (very recently) dropped bread and am hoping for results soon. (But I do miss bread :ohwell: )

So glad to read the original post. That is me precisely. Will come back to thread and keep reading ideas.

I think this is the most useful post and followup I have come across. Really appreciate the info and balanced replies. I lost my original weight by eating almost nothing through emotional stresses. I upped to 1200 after finding mfp and try to stay there or thereabouts. Unfortunately I do tend to have odd binges when on…
