I'm in. November 2 - 6 miles (2 miles pavement running and 4 miles of trail running) November 3 - 2 miles pavement. November 5 - 3 miles pavement 11 miles so far, and I'm rounding everything down. Today, for instance, was 3.1 miles (5K distance), and I beat my personal record.

Ran one of my fastest miles to date, and I put in 6.5 miles between regular (paved) running and trail running.

I recently completed the C25K program and actually wound up winning my division (Masters) in my first 5K. I used the Zen Labs version. I'm not as crazy about the 10K program, however. The first month, I walked a lot, usually in 2-4 mile increments. Not leisurely strolls, but honest, brisk walking (4 mph). We went on vacation to the coast this past week. I like seafood, and so I went totally off the rails for five days (~700 to1000 calories over per day). To lose weight, all I've really worried about is calories. Sugar is near impossible to clear, especially with the amounts in any kind of packaged or processed foods.

24:36. I placed 11th out of 362 runners and won my age bracket.

I finished my first 5K this past weekend. Official, posted time was 24:36 (7:55 min/mile). I placed 11th overall out of over 360 runners, and I was 1st in the 40-44 age group. Good post. I nearly doubled up last Saturday because of an event with LOTS of food, and I thought I might see a lull in my weight loss. Wasn't even a blip. I've continued at the same basic rate. One free day does not a tragedy make.

This is it. MFP has made me realize just how poor my choices were in the past and how much better I need to be, going forward. Two weeks under my belt, and I'm starting to feel the motor get stronger. I can accelerate up hills and simply feel more power in my stride. I'm really glad I decided to do the C25K so that I build up slowly and avoid knee pain.

A cold crimped my style last week, and I didn't run, but I got back on the wagon this weekend. I knocked out W1D2 yesterday morning, and I just finished up with W1D3 this evening. I'm using the Zen Labs 8-week (because that's how much time I have) training app on the iPhone. So... seven weeks to go!!!

I'm on it. I registered for my first 5K in October, and I started C25K yesterday. On the "off" days, I'm still going to do my normal 2-mile "brisk" (4 mph) walks in the morning. I'll probably do Week 1, Day 2 tomorrow.

Thanks. Two days in a row I've come in under my calorie count, and it really hasn't been all that hard. The only place I've been in the red is on sugars. Need to work on that area. Tomorrow morning, going to try to get in some exercise for a full hour.

What if it's outside the house work? Say, cutting with a pushmower for an hour in 95 degree heat and 90% humidity?
