Bump For those that we're trying Splenda were you using the baking version or just regular Splenda. The baking one pours like sugar from what I understand.

Thanks everyone, for the responses. I do generally stick to one serving of fruit a day with breakfast which is usually Berries, Apple, grapes or a banana. I think I just generally need to be a little more strict with my eating, let myself cheat to often. I am not on metaformin because right now my insulin levels are ok,…

I am in Mississauga too. I walk alot, use my condo gym and on the weekends I love going to the Y and doing aquafit.

You need to eat more, seriously.
Seriously? look at my food diary; I'm trying to lose weight here, and presently I'm losing a kilo a week, which is my targeted loss... what the heck would I want to eat more for?
I would agree, I am a women and a lot shorter than you and I eat around 1500 calories a day.…

If I am working out first thing in the morning in the gym in my condo then I generally just have a glass of water before and then when I get back I have a protein smoothie and about an hour later after I have showered and dressed I eat my breakfast. On the weekends I workout at the Y and for a lot longer so I will…

A net of 1200 calories is the lowest you should eat, so yes eat your exercise calories. You might want to look at www.scoobysworkshop.com to see what it says your calories are, MFP always says 1200.

I know this will sound crazy but maybe try eating a little more. When I was not exercising I stuck to around 1300 calories a day and was losing okay. However when I started going to the gym, (I do about an hour of cardio and 30-45 minutes of strength 4-5 days a week) I tried upping my calories by only a hundred or two a…

I usually know I am going to go over a little on the first two days, so I exercise more the rest of the week to make up for it and I am good. But I don't tell myself that "oh it is that time of the month, just eat what you want", I will listen to my body though and if it really wants a chocolate chip cookie and I can't fit…

This is another hot topic on here like giving up sugar or "clean eating" I personally gave up diet soda and anything else with aspartame a year ago and noticed a big improvement in how I felt within a week or two. I did this before I made any other changes in my lifestyle so I am pretty sure it was from this. I…

Couple of questions: 1) Are you not losing at all if you consistently eat 1600 cals or are you losing just not as much as you want to? How much do you have to lose, if you don't have that much than don't expect to lose 2lbs a week necessarily which is what a lot of people mistakenly do. 2) Are you eating lots of veggies? I…

Lol...in for the storm to come

Really SnoozieBunny what you are saying is exactly what those of us that are are supposedly being "negative" are saying, that 100% clean is difficult and in a lot of cases not sustainable. How is your comment any different?
-
You have no idea the storm you just started...lol. Although I have nothing against those that want to "eat clean" just remember that generally restricting your diet a lot, especially at first causes a lot of people to fail. The other thing is you have to make sure this is something you can maintain for life.

Oh there is also several groups on here for PCOS sufferers. Just click on groups and do a search.

Hello, I have PCOS and was just diagnosed about a year and a half ago, I am 41 now. I also have no thyroid and a heart condition that means no high intensity exercise. I have to say what has worked for me in the past and I need to get back to is that I stick to a net calorie intake of around 1200-1300 calories a day.…

Can you use the Polar FT7 when swimming to measure calories burned?
-
We are all determined to meet our goal but if you don't do it the right way you will just put it all back on when you start eating. And what good is meeting your goal if you give yourself some serious health issues along the way.
-
Oh and you are most likely not having a bowel movement for one of two reasons, either you haven't eaten enough at all or you need to increase your fat intake with healthy fats.
-
You need to eat more period. In the beginning due to water weight your lose will be a little above average, but on average you should be losing no more than around 2lbs a week. You need to calculate your BMR and TDEE to know how many calories to eat, you are starving yourself when you don't need too.
-
Pre-log and plan meals. Also if dinner is where your problem is, then figure out what type of afternoon snack makes it so you don't get home starving. For me it is Greek yogurt (due to protein) or A Kind bar or nuts (due to fat). I find that if I eat empty calories at this time like candy or chocolate then I am starving.…

Something to keep in mind is that MFP does not take into account speed or resistance whereas the actual machine does. If you truly want to know what calories you are burning you need an HRM.

Don't know if this is what you mean but, I have the book "The New Rules of Lifting for Women' and it talks about an article published in the Journal of Applied Physiology in 2003 about a study done by the University of Colorado. They took a group of men and women and split them up and had half burn 400 calories doing…

Okay well you have to look it up after but here is just a couple to give you an idea: "Sometimes it isn't easy to be a 25 year old stallion married to an 89 year old. That's why I bought this large container of lube. "Kill two birds with one stone" I mused, as I clicked 'buy.' Now I can have relations with my wife, and…
