  • I signed up with a personal trainer at my gym. They should be asking you what your goals are, what you are hoping to get out of the session (general tips, how to use specific equipment that type of thing). When I first signed up for just the six sessions they did a fitness test to tell me where I was, and we also had a lot…
  • I agree with everyone else, unless you are like me and are glucose intolerant or have diabetes if it is coming from natural sources you don't need to worry. That being said you do know it is a recommendation of 5 to 7 servings of fruits and vegetables a day of which my nutritionist/dietitian says most people if they have…
  • I use cricket flip flops, I have never had a problem with slipping, same when I had adidas ones.
  • I too have PCOS and no thyroid and a heart condition and my weight has yo-yo'd a lot. This time I am taking it slow and having some success. Like you I find I don't want to workout when I get home, so I push myself and get up early and go before work (5am comes really early). I got a personal trainer and He has me really…
  • For snacks I usually have, hard boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, apples and natural peanut butter, carrots and hummus or nuts like almonds or cashews. For quick easy and fast prep meals I will buy the bagged salad you can get and add the pre-cooked chicken breast strips (you can also get beef) or I will make a protein shake and…
  • I use Iron Vegan both chocolate and vanilla. No I am not vegan but have to limit my soy and I find this isn't as harsh on my stomach as using whey all the time.
  • Good for you, do what works for you so long as it isn't dangerous, everyone has to figure out what they think they can stick too. I personally find it is better for me to eat more carbs at lunch or breakfast than dinner. My trainer suggests that if I am working out to have more carbs earlier in the day to keep my energy up…
  • I have a few recipes like this, I just use low sodium chicken broth, which is easy to find in most grocery stores. As others have said it only effects weight lose in that you will retain more water. However consistently eating to much sodium for long periods of time can lead to other health problems.

  • Just remember PCOS is all about hormones and insulin resistance, so taking of these fake diet pill miracles can actually sometimes hurt you in the end. I too have PCOS and unfortunately you will find your weight loss journey takes longer than the average women but it is possible. As someone suggested above, carbs and sugar…
  • My calorie intake is set for 1500 a day and I aim for 130g of protein in a day but a lot of days I land between 100 & 120. My protein in a day is usually eggs (breakfast), chicken in salad or wrap at lunch, turkey, fish or chicken with dinner, at least one snack during the day of greek yogurt of cottage cheese, sometimes 2…
  • First it has only been 4 days give it time. Second how many calories does this equate too? Weight loss is about calories in vs. Calories out not about eliminating certain things all together.

  • I pre-make meals on Sunday. I do a lot of crockpot things like soup, chilli or this week was chicken and veggies, that or a stir-fry. I then divide it into individual portions and put half in the fridge and half in the freezer for later in the week.
  • I am 42 and have another 60 to lose, you can add me if you want.
  • Hi, I will send you a friend request. I am 42 (43 next week) and was diagnosed with PCOS about 4 years ago. I also have no thyroid due to cancer and a heart condition, so it makes losing weight fun but so for this time around I am doing good. I have lost just under 12lbs since Christmas from 209 to 198, I am 5'4 and want…

  • This^^ I just started with mine two months ago and he has been invaluable at keeping me accountable and pushing me to try things I never would have done on my own. I use to sweat when I worked out on my own but not much, with him I come away drenched and really feel like I have pushed myself. It was definetly expensive but…
  • Hi, you can add me if you want, I have 70 to 80 to lose.
  • I am smaller than you and dropped like 3 pounds my first week. 1.5 pounds in 5 days is fairly normal for a guy, especially if you are watching your calories. It has nothing to do with the carbs. If you don't lose the weight in a way you can maintain your lose, you are just going to put it back on when you go back to eating…
  • Hi, I have PCOS and no thyroid. I was diagnosed about 5 years ago. I am starting this journey and really determined this time. You can add me if you want.
  • She never said it was medically necessary, she said it was something I could try, as the doctors can't seem to figure out what is happening on several fronts, and a few of her patients have had good results using one. She did recommend 1 of 3 different one's and specifically said only one of those one's, and I never said…
  • Thank you for your advice, I do see a urologist and they can't figure it out either. Hence the trying different things. Though as I said just doing some research, not sure I want to do anything as extreme as a detox. And yes if I did I think I would skip the laxative herbs.
  • Thank you so much for your helpful comments, they are very helpful. And your comments about going ketogenic was also one of the things she said I could try. My doctor is not saying I need to do a detox, she said it was one of the things I could try, but not just anyone, and that she has had some patients it seemed to help…
  • I have done the antibiotic's, and it goes away but then comes back which is why she wants me to try taking some supplements and eliminating things from my diet and see if it helps.
  • No it is a recent thing, it is not considered a disorder that is when you have something cronic that is making it so your kidneys don't function properly. I have been tested for that type of stuff and it all came up negative.
  • For this one, basically I eliminate anything but certain lean meats (like fish and chicken), non-starchy vegetables, fruit (except tropical) and anything with dairy or added sugar from my diet for 12 days and I take some herbal supplements. I can even still eat eggs. Yes I would probably end up eating between 1000-1200…
  • The kidney flush is to help with persistent UTI's and the liver part is to help with the fatty liver.
  • Again, didn't ask for you opinion on detox's. Also, you do realize that basically what she is recommending is an elimination diet with some herbal supplements. not fasting or anything crazy.
