  • So your saying I should trust some stranger on the internet over my doctor who has three different specialty degrees, family medicine, endocrinology, and gastroenterology. I think I will stick with my doctor thanks. And not all the ones she recommended have the laxative, but the one I am asking about does.
  • Thank you for your opinion but I didn't ask about whether anyone recommends doing a detox, I asked if anyone had tried a particular one. I have a lot of medical issues and this doctor has been the only one that has gotten me healthy enough that I can workout everyday and have a lot of energy now. She also held my hand…
  • Can I ask why he needs to become gluten free? Depending on the reason you may have you worry about cross contamination which is a real pain. It means separate toasters, utensils and pans for cooking everything. And eating out is an extreme pain because of it. This is the case for most people with celiac disease and some…
  • If it continues I would get checked out. I was having this problem last year and it turned out my thyroid Meds were out of whack but the biggest culprit was my ferritin levels. My iron was on the low side but not bad but my ferritin which helps your body absorb iron was ridiculously low. I started taking a supplement and…

  • It could be, I know it did for me. I eat around 1500 a day and have lots of energy now. If you are exercising are you eating any of it back?

  • Most of this is probably water weight, many of us have big weight loses the first week of two because of this.
  • It really helped me last year when I was having problems with my Achilles.
  • Everything has carbs including fruits, vegetables a meat. I don't even know how this is possible. I can see no grain/rice/potatoes type thing. Though no thank you for me. Carbs are not bad though complex are better for you.
  • Her profile says she is pre-diabetic. The problem with adding fruit is you are adding sugar. I to am pre-diabetic and my doc and endocrinologist both say I should keep my sugar under 50, unless it is a special occasion or something. Not always successful but usually close.
  • I work out at about 7 every morning. I don't eat before but I eat and drink at least 30 yo 40 grams of protien after (like hard boiled eggs and protein shake). I then eat lunch between 1 and 2. If I don't half at least half to 2/3 of my calorie intake in then I am crashing by about 2:30. Make sure you are getting lots of…
  • How much are you eating on that one day off? You can negate your whole week of good eating with one really high calorie day. You have to remember this is a lifestyle change not just a diet. Are you going to spend your whole life looking forward to that one day? I will sometimes cheat on a meal if I am really craving a…
  • Another point would be that unless you are eating 1200 calls in a day (which I am not suggesting) gave you adjusted the amount of calories you get in a day since losing 40 pounds.
  • Losing 1 pound a week is normal and good. The smaller you get the less you generally lose in a week. I gave 50-60 pounds to lose and am losing about a pound a week and I work out at least 4 times a week. I am realistically telling myself that will take at least a year to Lise the weight. We don't put the weight on in a…
  • Hi, I wish you luck with your journey, you can add me if you like. I am Kim, I am back to try again I have 50-60 pounds to lose.

  • I have PCOS, no thyroid and a heart condition and yes I am back trying again to get my weight under control. With all these problems it is really important I win this fight.
  • Hi, I have about the same to lose if you want to add me. I have started working out twice a week with a trainer at the gym and at least 2 to 3 more times on my own. I have a lot of different health issues but am really trying not to let those limitations stop me this time.
  • Are you measuring/weighing all you food? You would be surprised how much you can be off on your calorie in count if you aren't. Also are you eating back all your exercise calories? I find the calories burned on here quite high so don't eat anymore than half back usually.
  • I am not sure why your doctor thinks your dosage us high. I had thyroid cancer a little over 10 yrs ago and so don't have one. I was on 125mcg daily until last year when it went out of whack and the Endocrinologist bumped it to 150mcg. She never mentioned that dosage was high. I would agree with whoever said it before if…
  • I just recently got back on the band wagon. I am from Mississauga, you can add me if you want.
  • Hi I have 60 to 70 to Lise. You can add me if you want.
  • Feel free to add me, I have about the same amount to lose.
  • I am back for hopefully the last time on here. I have 50+ pounds to lose as well and also like to chat. If you click on my name below my pic and send me a message if you are interested I will add you.
  • Do you workout at home? If not then you should be able to at least eat a banana or a granola bar on the way to the gym. Nothing heavy like a full meal just something with carbs and some sugar (I prefer natural sources of sugar) to keep you system up.
  • For me I will grab a banana or something that I can eat on the way to the gym before I workout. The carbs from it will generally get me through my workout and then I eat a breakfast high in protien after.
  • Question, what kind of cancer did you have? Was it by chance Thyroid? Has your doctor checked your iron, vitamin D or Vitamin B12? I have been exhausted lately, went yo the doc last week and it turns out I am in a state of hypothyroidism and my ferrin levels are incredibly low. I didn't even know what ferrin was but, it…
  • Since when are fruits and veggies simple carbs, and since when do they have a lot of protien? Basically you are telling her to be a vegetarian. Why? To the OP I agree it sucks, I have looked what my maintenance will be and it is about the same as you.
  • deleted
  • Are you also on a weight loss journey? I ask because 1200 is low, and I can't imagine that being maintenance calories. [/quote] I'm am trying to lose some weight. And with what I entered int MFP, I am supposed to be eating about 1290 calories a day, which I thought was actually pretty low! But seems to be okay, I guess.…
  • Yes you can take it at night but it does have to be on an empty stomach.. I just saw my endo last week and she wanted me to switch to taking mine at night because she says that eating within 30 minutes of getting up is better for patients with PCOS. But when I told her I don't usually finish dinner until at least 7:30 or 8…
