  • Good luck with this. I had Thyroid cancer 10 years ago now and had a full thyroidectomy. At the time everyone kept saying to me "But it is the most treatable cancer out there". Yes it is but you are still getting told you have Cancer. I will pray for good news for you.
  • You can add friends on your iPad if you go on safari and go to the website instead of using the APP. This is how I do it all the time.
  • I agree OP I think it is great you had such a great positive discussion with your nutritionist. You can do this. Didn't mean to hijack your post, was just trying to answer why she may have told you no eating after You and I are at about the same starting point I believe. Just curious, do you have physical limitations is…
  • A good protein source is hard boiled eggs and you can cook enough for several days at once. Okay this I don't get. I eat meat twice a day, and a lot of the time don't have to cook it. I use pre-cooked shrimp, pre-cooked chicken strips from wal-mart, canned tuna. You can also do things like cook enough chicken or fish or…
  • For those with PCOS here is an article that explains some of the reasons by Dr Beverly Yates. She is a fairly well known doctor in the field of PCOS. http://pcoslater.net/blog/learn-how-to-lose-weight-with-pcos-by-changing-when-you-eat/
  • As I said it was a couple of years ago so I don't remember the science, but I remember it was for two reasons, the first being that it helps a lot with mindless snacking which a lot of people have a tendency to do at night and the other is that you eat to fuel your body, but your body doesn't need that fuel right before…
  • The no snacks really depends on your personal situation. I have no thyroid and have PCOS so my endocrinologist has told me I should have my dinner done by 7 and no eating after 8:30 (I don't usually go to sleep before 11:30). She explained the science behind it but I don't remember now. It is a valid rule for certain…
  • I to have PCOS and a number of other medical issues. I agree with most of the others gluten free is not what you need unless you are sensitive to it. You need low carb which is not the same thing. I am struggling with low carb but am working on it, as I love my carbs.
  • You are being unrealistic if you think anything is going to happen in 7 days. I often workout and don't feel sore or anything after. I really have to push myself to get any muscle soreness and will only get it in my weakest muscles. But when I was working out regularly and eating right after a month or two I started to…
  • You need to try and enter each item separately. So for example look up Brown Rick Maki and see what it comes up with. I know Shrimp Tempura is in the system ans are some of the other stuff.
  • Hi I am in the GTA, and am 42. Feel free to add me.
  • I have to say I laughed out loud when I saw the title of this post :) Thanks to horrible doctors I am 42 and was just diagnosed with PCOS 2 years ago. The kicker for me is that I also have no thyroid due to cancer and a heart condition that limits the types of exercise and the intensity I can do. Oh and am allergic to a…
  • You need to look at your goals and figure out how to work it in if you really want it. I would think the chocolate is less calories then a couple of oreos but I don't know. I usually will say to myself so that treat is 200 calories is worth it, and I going to end up blowing my day if I have that now. If I absolutely can't…
  • How low do you keep your carbs? I am at about 100 - 120 a day right now.
  • http://www.cancer.ca/en/prevention-and-screening/be-aware/cancer-myths-and-controversies/sugar-and-cancer/?region=on From the cancer society of Canada. They say sugar has nothing to do with cancer however being overweight can. Get your facts straight please.
  • As someone who is insulin resistant due to a valid medical condition no it is not necessary to give it up and no it does not cause diabetes or cancer. Being overweight causes type 2 diabetes in certain people, usually because they have an underlying condition (like my PCOS) and when you gain weight it lowers your insulin…
  • What I do is create the recipe with everything individually then weigh the whole thing and my serving size is always 100g. Therefore if the total stew weighs 950g let say there would be 9.5 servings per a pot. Then I weigh the serving I eat and if for example it is 150g then I am eating 1.5 servings. Hope this makes sense.
  • I try to stay around 100 but I wonder if this is to high for someone with my health issues
  • If you really want to know google it. There are several sites that list it. (Sorry can't figure out how to cook and paste URL with tablet)
  • I am in Mississauga too.
  • I think the difference maybe that none of us are telling them not to smoke we are asking them to do something about there smell when it is really bad.
  • Sorry I should have said that by whole wheat I don't mean the regular whole wheat pasta I mean I use Kamut which is whole grain. The white pasta does actually spike my insulin levels. I found this too. If I eat simple carbs I start craving junk.
  • It is not horrible for you, personally I find that whole wheat or quinoa pasta is more filling. I have insulin resistance so it isn't great for me as things like white flour turn to sugar in your system faster and I have to keep my sugar levels down so I try to stick to complex carbs. But unless you are Diabetic, Insulin…
  • GTA, Ontario here
  • I do 1,500 but I am 5'4 and have a lot more to lose plus health issues. You might want to figure out your TDEE and then do from there or I know a lot of people on here do well with 1,200 plus eating back their exercise calories.
  • The thing you have to remember is you are making a lifestyle change not dieting. If you only diet and then go back to old habits you will just put the weight back on. The reason you couldn't stick with the food you mentioned above is probably because you got bored with it and wanted other things. You need to figure out how…
  • I agree how long have you been doing this? Do you weigh all solids or do you use cup measurements. If you only measure and don't weigh it is notoriously inconsistent from one cup to the next which is why the people on here that have been successful will tell you weighing is key. Also are you only going by the scale or have…
  • I agree what's the rush? Everyone I know that has done the juicing thing has put back on most if not all of the weight they lost in a very short time. Juicing cleanses are for getting toxins out of your body, weightloss at first is just a side benefit but it doesn't last. Also, if all you are having is juice after a few…
