  • Okay as someone else said 1200 is the lowest MFP will go, and I just took a look at your diary and you aren't even eating that you are eating around 1000-1100 a day. 1200 already has a deficit built in so you should not be eating lower than this. I couldn't tell are you exercising and if so are you eating these calories…
  • Personally I find my weight fluctuates to much throughout the day depending on what I ate or how much I drank so I weigh myself first thing in the morning before I get in the shower.
  • I agree not enough calories. I was on 1200 calories last year when I did this but I have PCOS and that is what the doc put me on. If you are going to eat that low you need to eat less bread type carbs (not none, just less) and more protein and fruits and veggies as this is what will fill you up and there are carbs in them…
  • Here is a simple way to put it, a female needs around 1200 calories a day just to survive and not start to lose muscle mass and a male needs about 1800 calories. If you are currently eating 1800 calories and not exercising then you are good but if you are exercising then you are not netting 1800 calories a day so as…
  • I would love to join the group. I definitely long in daily, and have some goals I want to achieve. I try to contribute when I think I have something worthwhile to say. I log daily except maybe the odd day mostly on the weekends if I have taken a cheat day.
  • Go on you tube and look up fitness blender, they have a lot of different workouts many of which don't require equipment.
  • For me the best out there is BodyGlide. I use to do a 2-day 60km fundraising walk every year which required alot of training and my thighs and insides of my arms always rubbed. I wore this religiously and never had problems.
  • I am 41 in Toronto and just started this journey again about 6 weeks ago. Add me if you like.
  • On mornings I don't work out Either 2 Hard Boiled Eggs, Cheese String or baby bel cheese and a piece or cup of fruit or Nature Path Cereal with Almond Milk and a cup of fruit On Mornings I work out I eat the above but with a protein smoothie and that is where my fruit is instead of me eating it on its own.
  • What I try to do most days is not go over what MFP gives me in processed sugars. So I am usually in the red but so long as that red number isn't higher than the sugar I have eaten from natural sources like fruits and veggies I don't worry about it. I should also say that I am insulin resistant and my glucose levels are at…

  • Fellow PCOSer here feel free to add me. I also have no thyroid and a heart condition. I find that sticking to complex carbs and keeping the sugar low really helps but the biggest thing is exercise.
  • While I agree that people do not necessarily need to worry about carb and sugar intake so much unless they are a diabetic or insulin resistant. I am not so sure I agree with the sodium. Below is an article from the American Heart Association on the effects of too much sodium.…
  • Hi, Feel free to add me, I am back again for the second time and determined that this time I will get the weight off and keep it off. I log on daily and track my food and my diary is open to friends. I am 5'4 and have about 50lbs to lose.
  • You may not need to go completely gluten-free. I use to get the same symptoms as you, really bloated and gassy after eating. I cut out anything with white and whole wheat flour, I use quinoa or kamut (which yes has gluten) pasta, I rarely eat bread and if I do it is always again gluten free or quinoa and I rarely get the…
  • Yes walking is legitimate exercise. I lost my original 50lbs by walking and eating right. I am now back into things and this time am doing other exercises as well but I still walk 3 to 4 times a week. I find that the smaller I am the more calories I have to burn so walking alone doesn't always work but I will always keep…
  • The only way to do this is under a doctor's supervision and only if required for medical reasons. My brother is currently doing this as he needs hernia surgery and needs to lose 40lbs in 8 weeks. The doctor sees him once a week and has already told him it is not recommended he continue this type of diet once he has had his…
  • Hi and welcome, feel free to add me.
  • it is just a fancy name for roasted cauliflower with some spices or you can do it with just garlic salt and then add parmesan after it is cooked.
  • I so wish I could do this but I allergic to Tomatoes.
  • Maybe this is it, though I do find they can add up so I log everything.
  • This^^ When it comes to Brussels sprouts, I hate okra
  • Do you mean when they try to replace certain things with them? Like cauliflower pizza crust? I agree for the most part if that is what you are referring too.
  • Deleted as person corrected themselves
  • Here are links to two different versions that are both pretty good. http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/cauliflower-popcorn http://www.food.com/recipe/popcorn-cauliflower-217432
  • Thanks, I don't know why I am feeling bad today about doing this. Maybe it is because I feel like crap today.
  • I took a look at your diary and I don't think you are eating enough. Now before you dismiss me, I too have PCOS as well as no thyroid so I know how you feel. I lost 30lbs last year, and when I started I stuck to 1200 a day no matter how much I exercised, but wasn't barely losing anything, I upped it to around 1500 on the…
  • Is your diary right for your water intake? If so you really need to drink more.
  • The first thing you need to do is stop thinking about this as if it is a diet. It is a lifestyle change where you mostly eat healthy and exercise and indulge only occasionally. Try not to cut all the things you love out of your food, it is all about moderation and keeping an calorie deficit. For example I can still fit a…
