I've been at it hard since January. I work out 5 or 6 days a week; two of them with a trainer who just kicks my butt to there and back. I work evening shift which means I'm done at 11pm. I usually do my workout after work, then go home, have a snack and go to bed...and right to sleep. Even breaking 2 of the cardinal "rules"(working out and eating at night), I'm still losing weight, gaining muscle and feeling better than ever!

I worked nights for years. What I found worked the best for me was to start my 'day' at midnight and run for 24 hours. I quit calling my meals breakfast, lunch and dinner and renamed them meal 1,2,3 and etc. I also ate 6 small meals a day instead of the traditional 3 + snack which cut down on the sugar cravings at 3am. Dragonbugg I think you're onto something - I'd forgotten how much I hate sweating which is why I got into swimming in the first place!! I guess that's why rowing also seems easier - being on the river in the cold and even though my heartrate is way up, I'm not sweating. Maybe I need to take to running outside...or wear an…
