I might not be smart enough to join - can’t find a team named Stavarians in the C2 logbook! Send me a hint and I’m happy to join

You are a woman. Welcome to womanhood - with all the weight fluctuations that go along with that. I lost 60 lbs a few years back, then gained it back over 8 years. So, I'm working on it again. When I get discouraged, I go back and look at my weight stats from the last time around...sure enough, out of every 4 weeks, 1 week…

I’ve done it both ways. And been successful both ways. It’s when I QUIT logging I get into trouble! I work at a desk 3-4 very long days a week (12-14 hour days). On my days off I’m extremely active - hiking, rowing, working in the yard, what have you. Because my calorie expenditure is so very different, right now I’m set…

Cool - thanks for the heads up!

Been around for a while; took a break and am back. Need more friends! 55, also dealing with menopause (it blows chunks); trying to get back to my pre-desk job weight again.

Stumbled back in after a few years away from this group - good to see it reactivated! I'm also out here in the PNW - avid hiker and backpacker 3 seasons of the year and snowshoer for the 4th. The only 'climbing' I've done is in a gym, but have done a little alpine stuff and I'm always up for a scramble.

I row! Or at least I did until this past spring when a nagging ankle injury forced me to quit for the year! But I'm back on the erg and feeling good, so hopefully all that work will translate well for next spring. It's a great sport - not one single part of your body that doesn't benefit.

I use a polar loop. It's waterproof, so I can use it swimming, also don't need to worry in the shower. Finally, it will attach via Bluetooth to a chest strap HRM, so I get a far more accurate measure of calories burned during workouts.

"Not that I advocate "eating dirty" as a protest. I am just as irritated by all that filthy Americana, the menus of fast food elevated only by the use of quality ingredients in the service of fat, salt and sugar. Sometimes that's OK. Sometimes it's great. Just as salads are sometimes great. But pursuing a menu of any of…

Realizing that the 1/4 - 1/2 lb I lose on average per week still adds up to big losses over time. There's no fast and easy way - its a slog.

In before the lock. And for bunny gifs.

Dammit I always miss the bingo!!

Beautiful!!

I use a polar loop (a fitness band) which tracks steps and calories burned. I pair it with a chest strap HRM during workouts. I love it/them!

I keep looking at those Sawyers - very tempting indeed...if it wasn't for the fact that I soooooo love my Miox!

I use a Miox water treatment system. Before I treat the water, I'll pre filter it thru a reusable coffee filter. As backup, I carry tablets. Both the Miox and the tablets are good for treating turbid water; only drawback is having to wait a little prior to drinking. Water sources vary from snow, springs/creeks/rivers to…

I'm with hikergirl. Poles are always on my pack if I'm not actually using them to assist me. Loose scree, steep downhills, mud, snow and creek crossings are all places I pull them out. And, when I stop for the day, they double as tent poles for my tarp! I guess my question is, why WOULDN'T anyone carry trekking poles?!

You've lost 51 lbs doing what you do! Seems to me you've already got this dialed in my friend. I'm also a nurse in an extremely busy ER and I also work 12 hour shifts. At the end of the day, there is no way on Gods green earth that I'm gonna workout. All I can think about is getting home, FINALLY emptying my bladder,…

I would happily read it...and comment too. But I get the 'unknown user' page as well. Might be because you seem to have your privacy settings cranked to 'friends only'.

I'm an avid hiker in the PNW. I like trail runners for walks and day hikes (current pair is Brooks Cascadias - they're awesome). But when I'm going out for more than just the day, I like my very old fashioned all leather boots with burly vibram soles. When I'm out on a trip, it's usually in the north cascades where the…

In for either the negativity or the gap.

You need to drink lots of water. Also, a high protein snack immediately post workout helps with muscle recovery. You can get all kinds of fancy protein shakes if you want, or go with the old body builders standby - chocolate milk which works and tastes way better than any powder. You'll find the DOMS gets better as your…

I live in northern washington - the Cascades are my home. The high desert of the east side during the shoulder seasons and the glaciated peaks in the summer. Life is good here

It's there. Top left hand corner of the home page that opens when you open the app is 3 horizontal lines. Click on that, it opens all the options, just like on your iPad. You also can just swipe left to right and you'll get to the same place.

Yes, strong lifts for women is the same program as for men. The only difference will likely be in the progression you make or where you start - if you can't squat an oly bar for instance, start with something lighter or even just start with squatting your body weight. The key is to use good form (you tube is your friend…
