@mlarizza1977 You are definitely right about logging consistently. My problem usually becomes less of "I'm not sure how many calories that is" and more of "I'm so over all of this and just need a break from it all before I lose my mind." If it's not the mental rut, life will get so busy that I know I have to accept my…

Thanks, everyone! :)

Whenever I try to give it all up at once, I fail...miserably. You are absolutely right: not sustainable, at least not for me.

You can add me! I'm trying to find an active support group as well to help keep me motivated. Without the support, I struggle! Sending you a request and welcome to the requests of others.
-
I'd love some active friends who honestly have time to drop a quick word of support and are active on this site. I'm having terrible luck only finding people who don't log in, log in and do nothing else, or are just creepy and send creepy messages. LOL!
-
Anyone who is active can add me! I'm typically a daily logger and supporter, but I get frustrated when others don't return the support or just go dormant (my current situation). I would LOVE some new friends who actually take this journey seriously.

Hi, all! Feel free to add me! I'm in need of some active friends who have time to actually interact some and give support as well as receive.
-
I'll send you a request! I'm trying to get back to active (both on here and in life) again, but I've realized that in my absence, lots of my supportive MFP friends have disappeared. I've found this journey works so much better if you have people you can interact and share the journey with. If anyone would like to add me,…

Yeah, girl, let's get it! LOL!

Sharing this article because I've consulted it several times. http://www.jillianmichaels.com/fit/lose-weight/break-through-weight-loss-plateau I'm currently trying to break through by weighing everything I eat at home (within reason). Recently some friends explained that measuring with cups, spoons, etc. is often…

Feel free to add me! I've been here a while and am still plugging away, but lots of my friends have become inactive or don't seem to have time to be supportive. I really need some friends who like to both give and get support.
-
I sent you a FR. I'm in the same boat. I log daily and always support my "friends," but I can't seem to get the same in return. I could really use some new friends who have time to interact!

I just found this post b/c I'm new to prepping salads. LOL! I would definitely weigh everything and skip the measuring cups. I have learned that 1 cup of something is often deceptive and ends up giving you more calories than you had expected. I food scale is typically more accurate.

I've recently started weighing my foods after discussing a plateau with some friends here. I've learned that what I'm logging is very different than what I'm actually consuming, so I'm hoping that weighing will help me push through the plateau and become more aware. Trust me, though. If what I was doing was working, I…

Ah, this makes a lot of sense. Thank you!

I love my Charge, but I also have no need for a HR. I have a HRM that uses a chest strap for (more) accurate results when I actually workout. I've always heard that a HRM applied to the wrist is not accurate and that a chest strap is the way to go. However, I cannot tell you that this is 100% true. Like Jeepinshawn, I like…

I recently asked a similar question, so I'll share what I learned. Do you weigh all of your foods? The Community recently suggested that, although I weigh some foods and measure with measuring cups/spoons and scan packages, I may actually be consuming more calories than I think. Honestly, I didn't like this answer. LOL!…

I recently purchased a Polar Ft4 that uses a chest strap. That's what I've been using for the last couple of months. Previously I had a Pilar Ft 7, but it started being unreliable so I replaced it.

I was not consistently losing. In fact, it's been a very slow journey. I've lost about 17lbs over the past year. In the fall I hit my lowest weight on the journey (156 or 157 which led me to a total loss of 20 lbs), but I also quickly got overwhelmed with school work and my fitness/diet fell to the wayside. At that point,…

This is why I'm so very confused. One of the reasons I stopped eating my exercise calories was because a mfp friend recommended I do that in hopes of helping me finally lose weight. If I eat them all, will I lose or just gain? I try to weigh my food and use a HRM to be as accurate as possible, but I know there's always…

I use a heart rate monitor to calculate my calories burned & I try to weigh and measure my food whenever possible or go by the basic serving sizes (1 slice = so many calories, etc.) Could the totals still be incorrect?

I LOVE my Fitbit! Their customer support is awesome, so if you ever have a problem you have a company that cares. I also love that social aspect of it. I feel motivated every week I'm in a challenge and I enjoy the "cheers" you can send to friends. I would definitely recommend getting a Fitbit.

I'm 35 and trying to get myself back into shape after a lull (or many lulls). I could use friends who enjoy encouraging others as much as getting encouragement. Sadly, friend collectors keep finding me, which is just a waste of time and disappointing.

Anyone who's active and has time to interact can add me! I love the relationship of giving and getting encouragement! :)
-
Anyone who's active can add me! I've been deleting those disappearing acts myself. I feel like I always do better when I have friends who can find some time during the week to interact and keep me in line, LOL!
-
Hi! Feel free to add me!

Feel free to add me. I keep looking for truly supportive friends, but right now I just keeping ending up on the list of friend collectors. I'm also in my 30s and trying to get myself back in shape with the help of this community.

I could be wrong, but I think it will only count the steps you take while shoveling snow. It probably doesn't account for the calories you are burning from the hard work itself. You would probably need a heart rate monitor to track those calories, since your heart rate is most likely up, but the charge doesn't know that.…

Feel free to add me :)

Feel free to add me as well! After a small hiatus, I'm ready to get back to it. I will kick it in gear the 1st, but am trying my best until then :)
