This comment gives me life because it's the most accurate part of this post. (God I hate sexist stereotypes).

Sprouted grain bread is good for vegans.
-
Peppers and onions, no matter how they're prepared, make me feel sick to my stomach. Even the thought of them.
-
I'm a vegan too. Feel free to add, anyone!

It depends on how much you weigh, how much you want to lose, etc.. MFP will adjust it for you, though there are other sites that will adjust it too.

I'm not doing it for weight loss. It's really just a personal choice. It's healthier if you want to lower your cholesterol, though you can still definitely be unhealthy and vegan. It depends on what you eat in general. I think a lot of vegans are misinformed, but a lot of nonvegans are as well. I'm not here to preach to…

Which nutrients do you mean, then?
-
Not every day. On occasion, because they are delicious.

I think that's decent advice, but not necessarily true. It doesn't have to be about ethics. If you stock up on grains, veggies, fruits, tofu, other sources of protein, etc., you can be a vegan for diet and not just for ethics. I, for one, am trying to get past the hurdle of terrible cholesterol. But I'm definitely not…
-
Do you mean protein? Because there are a lot of vegan sources for protein. A LOT of them.

The thing is, a lot of it is about how animals are treated before they're killed. Animals who kill other animals in nature.... they stalk it, and then go in for the kill, usually putting the animal out of its misery pretty fast. But the meat industry tends to torture animals or put them in harmful environments, or feed…

Wow, I hardly ever see posts about the vegan lifestyle on here! I'm a recently turned vegan. I wasn't even a vegetarian before this month, so it was a bit of a switch. And here's some of my "wisdom" ~ People who give you a hard time about it aren't worth talking to about it. There are going to be insensitive people about…

Your judgement means everything to me.

When I'm at the gym, on one of the machines, and all the other ones are free... but then a stranger comes over and chooses a machine right next to me. I AM AN AWKWARD PERSON. I AM SORRY, BUT THIS IS AWKWARD FOR ME.

If they care about you, they should encourage you and your weight loss efforts! Try to ignore them and get encouragement wherever you can, including here :)
-
Congrats on your weight loss so far! And it sucks that people don't support you. I get that sometimes, and either I try to educate people or do ignore it. Sometimes people are stuck in their own worlds and their own ideas, and they don't really get it. Just keep doing what you're doing because you've made awesome progress!

Sauté them and store them in tupperware in your fridge so you have them ready for when you want them! You can flavor them with soy sauce or teriyaki sauce and garlic powder and other kinds of spices and things.
-
I think it helps but it's not 100% necessary.
-
What I do for dinner is... I'll make a grain, like brown rice or quinoa or something, sautee some mixed veggies and put baby spinach with them, and then add soy sauce. Sweet potatoes are good to add to that too. Also if you make your own soups with veggie broth, veggies, potatoes, and grains, it's a way to be creative and…

highway to hell.

Such an accurate list.

I'm going to have smaller portions of different foods but also not log, just in case. I'm not *super* worried because meat and dairy aren't part of my diet anymore, so the mashed potatoes I eat will be lower-cal and and not made with milk and butter, for example. But it's still possible to overeat, even on a vegan diet, so…
-
Small portions of lots of awesome stuff, I think. I'm not logging that day, but if I eat *too* much I'll probably beat myself up over it :(
-
agave nectar, maybe.
-
Sometimes I have granola and yogurt. Other times I'll have cheerios with almond milk. Depends on how I feel! Today it was the cheerios.
-
Sweet potatoes, veggie broth, frozen vegetables, baby spinach, almond milk, coconut milk yogurt, granola, pearl cous cous, crushed tomatoes, sometimes pasta... it really depends on what I have and what's been bought already by others.
-
Buy food in bulk if you can. Bulk sections usually have things like different kinds of rice, quinoa, cereal, etc. And in the long run it can be cheaper than buying a bunch of packages of the stuff.
-
I've never been a soda fan, but aspartame scares me so much that I stopped drinking diet Snapples and diet citrus green teas.
-
Articles like this scare me and tempt me into staying vegan or vegetarian for the rest of my life.

It depends on the type of fat and the type of sugar, in my opinion. If you go over a certain amount of saturated fat, or have trans fat, it can be bad for you. Unsaturated fats aren't. And there are bad sugars as well, like high fructose corn syrup. And it can be bad if you have *too* much, but you don't have to cut it out…
