Yes. Same issue.

Not sure this is relevant as I wear Vibram FiveFingers. 250-300 miles on a pair and I start looking for wear on the soles. I have worn a few through and that's when they go in the "retired" pile for wearing around the house. Usually the uppers go before the sole. Obviously with the Vibrams there's no padding to soften/wear…

Cottage cheese. Mix it with fruit, etc.

Generally your best bet is to run negative splits...start more slowly than you think you need to, then speed up and finish strong.

This. Tapering is tough mentally...be ready for it.

I concur with what's already been posted. I find mittens warmer than gloves once the temp gets to 30-35 or so.

I would suggest running at least part of the course a few times beforehand. The difference in terrain and footing take some getting used to.

You got this. Give some thought to cross training...strength training, etc. I also find yoga very helpful. I do both twice a week, and run 5 days.

Wow.

FYI...weight training calorie burn is found under "cardio." Look for "strength training."

Started in December. Love it. Take the classes first as stated here, you'll learn more. Don't try to do too much too soon. People have different levels of flexibility. I found buying my own mat helpful. The supplied mats were a bit "slippery" and I didn't feel I could relax while stretching or I would slip. Mine is tacky…

The Strassburg Sock and a foot roller cured mine. I also switched to Vibram 5Fingers. That took a while, but well worth it.

It's fine. Just log the calories and enjoy it.

I managed to get through our miserable winter using the treadmill quite a bit. I found it helpful to: 1- I bought BlueTooth headphones so I could listen to music on my phone while running. 2- I covered the treadmill screen with a towel so I didn't see every second tick by. 3- Vary the incline now and then, also use the…

What he said. There's a woman at my gym who is a regular and she's pushing 90. Several men and women are in their 80's.

Don't do too much too soon, even when you feel good. Finish every run thinking "I could have gone farther/faster." Leave yourself wanting more.

This is "Running on Air" in a nutshell.

Pick up a copy of "Running on Air" by Bud Coates. It's available through Runner's World or Amazon. A terrific study of running and breathing...from beginners to expert.

Not a vegan...dyed-in-the-wool carnivore. I run 20-25 miles per week. Did you win? LOL.

Works for me. You may have to adjust the calorie totals...I either verify the total with another format (my Garmin, etc. -- I log the lowest total), an on-line calculator, or just log fewer minutes of exercise than I actually did. For example, I always log my 1-hr spin class at 50 minutes. I eat back the exercise calories.…

Love mine. They changed everything. I now have about 12 pairs. I have worn them for running exclusively for almost 4 years. No more prescription orthotics. I would suggest you go to a store and get measured for your first pair. After that you can always buy them on the internet.
