And now I know what a butt wink is...

I weigh myself every morning, log most of the time, and make exercises/activity part of my life. I like feeling healthy and energetic, wearing smaller sizes, and being strong so it's really not too hard to "keep my head in the game." Of course, sometimes I go way over my calories and sometimes I don't get enough exercise.…

I pretty much use mine to cook beans. Soak, then put in slow cooker. Easy, then you can use them for whatever.

All good advice on here, just want to add that if you decide not to hire a trainer, at least get one to show you around. I'd say pick a program first then you can show the trainer what you want to do. Don't be intimidated like I was.

I had the same pain last week. Over Christmas a family member (& former pro footfall player who's in amazing shape) showed me some mobilty streches with those Rogue bands. I feel a lot better, no pain today after squats. http://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-monster-bands

I was going to say that I try to find whatever is the most similar and has the most calories but this would work too but I feel like it would wipe out all of my calories for the day for a restaurant entree.

I did this last weekend. An older couple were taking up both squat racks and taking their sweet a** time. Chatting like no one else was in the (busy) gym at the time. They still didn't get the hint so I finally asked to work in. Annoying.

Yes, on my belly. But I've lost 50lbs 3 times and had 2 babies, the last was 10lbs. I think genetics play a big part but you can only stretch out your skin so much without it being permanently damaged. It's not a big deal for me.

Yes, I've been experiencing this lately. I don't know why. I've been lifting since the summer but have been getting really tired lately. I also have 2 small kids that interupt my sleep but I think I've been more tired on lifting days.

It took me a good 2 years to get over my fear of the weights area but I'm SO happy I finally did. It is so empowering and really changing my body in amazing ways. So, just dive right in as pp said. It's worth it. I haven't had many interactions with people while lifting, most positive a couple annoying, but no big thing.…

I've lost 50lbs 3 times and most of it without a gym. I did a lot of running, bodyweight exercises, hiking hills, free weights, exercises on playground equipment, just have to be creative :) Now, I belong to a gym so I can do SL 5x5 but if I had room for a squat rack at home, I'd just do that.

Yes, a similar thing happened to me at my gym. It took me a while to get the guts to start lifting and a trainer did a whole assessment and said I should be doing his program 6x a week and that I shouldn't be starting with the barbell. I said no thanks and am sticking with SL 5x5. He makes little comments but is leaving me…

Tamales and probably cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning.

First of all, congrats! Yes, talk with your doc. I started walking a bit in the beginning but waited quite a while to jump back into serious exercise. Give yourself time!

I've been doing SL since the summer and try to follow the program as designed. I do very little cardio, maybe an occasional run. If you're following the program, you need those rest days. SL has really increased my strength and muscle mass. I haven't really lost weight, I'm more in recomp mode. You don't need additional ab…

Good choice. I felt like that earlier in the season, still worked out, and ended up getting sicker. I think in the long run, you're better off to rest so you can get over it faster.

You've done an amazing job so far. Just keep plugging along and be encouraged by your overall trend. It's discouraging, I know, but it's also part of the journey. You'll get to your goal!

Do you have a farmers market nearby? Local, in-season produce all year (well maybe not in northern states, I'm in ca :)

I'm lacto ovo and shoot for 100g of protein a day. Feel free to add me so you can see my diary. I eat a lot of eggs, cheese, protein shakes, yogurt, nuts, & beans.

Yes, twice, but it took me about 2 years after baby #2. They were 20 months apart and I did no exercise the 2d time. It was a lot harder to lose the weight. But anything is possible!!

My body seems happy around 140 (I'm 5'8"). I believe I'm around 20% bf right now so that gives me room to recomp and maintain my current weight range.

love those spiders!

I weigh every morning before eating/drinking anything. The differences throughout the day mean nothing but I do like to see a trend so that's why I weigh everyday. Good luck and give yourself time.

I came down with a little cold today & still lifted but feel worse now so will prob wait until Mon to work out again. Listen to your body

Actually, I've got a recipe for you! Sub leaks for the spring onions (I think I've done this before and it turned out fine) and then blend in a (drained) block of extra firm tofu. Yum! It's a really tasty recipe and you can't taste the tofu but it adds a punch a protein. http://www.marthastewart.com/353233/spring-onion-soup

I recently re-started after a 2 1/2 month break. I started with the bar but added weight faster and am just about back to what I left off at - after about 2-3 weeks.

I stopped taking vitamins after I finished breastfeeding and don't feel any different. I kinda think they're a scam but I do believe in prenatals if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
