I like the book, "Feeding the Whole Family" http://www.amazon.com/Feeding-Whole-Family-Recipes-Children/dp/157061525X

There have been times that my knees and hips have hurt but then my body gets used to the weight and I'm fine. After a year of SL, I never get knee pain (I don't use sleeves) and my hips hurt very rarely.

OP, you look great! I wish my arms looked like that :)

You can also make a Guinness milkshake. I don't drink anymore so just lots of ice cream for me :p
-
Just Dance or Zumba! I do it on Xbox with my daughter, it's so much fun :)

I think this would vary a lot. I've done it in a quiet harbor and didn't think it was much of a workout, whereas in open ocean, I'm sure it'd be a lot more.

This is after a year of Strong Lifts. No significant weight change, also had to take some breaks over the year and was not terribly consistent. The pics aren't great but I'm happy with the results!

Yes, I try to always buy organic, fair trade & shade grown coffee whenever possible. Not so much for health benefits, but for the environment and encouraging good labor practices. I eat maybe 50% organic but coffee is a priority since I care about the industry... I love coffee!

I'm exhausted. Put in a couple more citrus trees today with root cages for gophers and tall cages for deer. Also got more pots ready and transferred a tomato. I've having a hard time with my seeds germinating. This happened last year, I think my seedling cells may be contaminated...

I made bread & butter pickles with zukes one year and they turned out great. Also, Allrecipes.com has a recipe for zuke brownies that I usually make all summer long. So good, no one knows there's a ton of zucchini in them.

Congrats on your loss! Yes, it'll get better. Lift heavy. My youngest is 3.5 and my stomach is just now getting flatter, stretch marks are not too noticable. Just keep plugging away. Weight lifting helped me the most.

Dried beans, eggs, peanut butter/peanuts, carrots, a big container of baby spinich lasts me a while.

Yup. I've pretty much been just lifting over the past year, little to no cardio. Interestingly, I ran a 5k last spring and struggled with it a bit even though I had been doing some cardio. Last week, I ran one with no problem at all and very little soreness the next day, even though I hadn't been running at all. So,…

I had DOMS from lifitng Mon and still lifted today. I follow SL and find the rest days helpful.

I like Strong Lifts plus pullups. Nearing a year and loving the results.

I love gardening and plan to work in my garden this afternoon. I don't log any of my exercise including gardening. It's just all part of the healthy life I try to maintain. Here's to bountiful gardens for everyone this year! My dad just put a fence around mine so the deer don't mow it all down like last year

The app always shows my iron very low, just got my labs done and I'm fine. I do try to eat greens and take a multivitamin with iron but I wouldn't worry about it unless your doc says to. If you think you're low, get tested.

I used to lift in NB Minimus but ended up having a lot of toe pain. Now, I lift in Converse and run in NB running shoes with Superfeet inserts (swear by those). Both work great for their respective purposes.

OMG have you guys tried the Haagen Dazs Peanut Butter Pie. So amazing. Not thrilled with the B&J Peanut Butter and Chocolate Core tho...

Coffee for me too

Zumba is fun for the kids and I to do together. Just Dance was too hard for me.

I found the Strong Lift website with all of his videos very helpful as a beginner. Also Starting Strength but I feel like Strong Lifts is simpler.

Love this thread...

I use Vega Protein & Greens from Costco, I think it was around $20. It's ok blended with soy milk & ice.
-
Accept it! And a sunscreen and moisturizer or course ;)
-
@Reinventing_Me yes, can totally see a difference! Great work!
-
I do SL so a set with unloaded bar, then work up to my 5x5 weight. That's it. I really love how efficient SL is.
-
I try to use my cast iron pan as much as possible. For what it's worth, I'm a vegetarian and am always pretty low on my iron intake but just got tested and I'm fine.

Same. I'm newer to lifting but have pretty good flexibilty from years of yoga. Maybe google yoga poses for ankle mobilty?
