  • No, that's what I said :) The reactions I get from certain foods are not the same as other people. (And I'm not avoiding the rest of this, but I gotta go to work!)
  • So I guess you could say instead that my reaction to those macros are genetic...and then we're back to the beginning :)
  • But I am literally NOT eating less-I'm eating DIFFERENT. I'm now eating foods that are better for MY body. I'm still at 1200 calories. But I grew up thinking the weight watchers way- 1200 calories is 1200 calories, while for me, that's just not true.
  • This is really a yes and no. I grew up eating the same as my relatively skinny family. We were all competitive swimmers-so exercise wasn't the issue. BUT. We are also half native, and I'm the one who carries most of the native traits. In December I stopped with the sugar and carbs (well, I lowered them significantly…
  • This is a better forum. https://www.facebook.com/groups/idealproteinsupportersphase1group/
  • I cannot say enough good things about a ketogenic diet. I was diagnosed in December with an A1 C of 10.3. As of today my doctor has officially declared that I am no longer diabetic. The plan I follow is slightly different, I am on the ideal protein diet. It is low-carb, low sugar, Moderate protein, low-fat. And I have…

  • Seriously, come over to the facebook page, I only use mfp to log now, I found these forums less than helpful with what we're doing. :)
  • Really...I'm never hungry, there are actually times at dinner I have to force the last of the meat down. My coach wouldn't have let me sign up, don't all the products have gluten or egg in them? I lost 6 the first week, and it looks like I will be the same this week. Mind you, I'm following strictly.
  • Curious what you picked? I think I could eat the pudding forever :-) but doesn't seem realistic so... Also really like the barbecue chips for snacks
  • Nope, it counts. It doesn't burn away, it gets soaked into the food. I suppose you could measure what's left... 4 tbsp is deep frying in my opinion, unless it's just a ginormous pan.
  • Drink your water :) The bad breath phase has started for me, so this week should be good. New one to try, I did the banana waffles with the pudding...oh...so...good. I didn't use the syrup but apparently you can use the walden farms syrup. I've had sugar free syrup before, and let's just say it's not worth $8. I don't know…
  • Some things work for some people. Some things don't. The problem is when you take that "failure" and let it stop you from trying something else. Low-carb works for me, while IIFYM absolutely did not. So, hang in there until you find what does work for you.
  • I find the trick is to add your 2 cups to the packet. For the mushroom soup, I'll add a cup of mushrooms and two stalks celery. For the potato, I'll add 2 c. of leeks. The vanilla drink powder is great in coffee. I had to stop buying the triple chocolate wafers...they are sooooo damn good. But they're restricted and I…
  • I think you'd be surprised. 4 oz of noodles is a quarter of the package and a pound of chicken is a lot. You could always just make more noodles and adjust, there's a lot more sauce than noodles. At 386 calories, with some exercise, that's room for 2 servings :)
  • Sunday. Sunday is "I will only put pants on if I have to" day. I love Sunday.
  • And all the brands vary, I just found some that, while still high, won't send you into a coma while looking at them. But the lowest "normal" ones I've found are still 25g carb, 8g sugar.
  • It's not free. It's one of your benefits. You work for it. Talk to the manager-especially about the cologne. Most places are scent free anyway. You could always write a letter if you're really uncomfortable speaking up-just make sure it's given straight to the manager. But my suggestion is just to speak up.
  • (*) (*) People forget, grains ARE sugar. My blood sugar went from a 10.2 (diabetic) to a 4.9 (optimum normal) in 8 months, all from controlling those sugar spikes. You might not be diabetic, but sugar spikes-and dips-aren't good for anyone. But the IIFYM people are loud. And the low-carbers are defensive :)
  • Hate to be "that guy" but graham crackers = 76 g carb, 68g sugar, negligible fibre. So make sure you find gluten free or sugar free graham crackers.
  • I've tried a couple of her recipes, and they're good. http://beautyandthefoodie.com/category/gluten-and-grain-free-low-carb-recipes/low-carb-grain-free-desserts-and-treats/
  • So much grilled cheese! I put bacon on it once and thought I was being all adventurous...
  • I've actually tried it, not bad, not bad at all. Labatt is tourist beer :) http://blogs.calgaryherald.com/2014/09/30/beer-news-stone-brewing-deems-alberta-worthy-a-dandy-debut-for-calgary-brewery-and-more/
  • Yup...I got flagged. Someone must be a real hoot at parties.
  • That's cause you're not Canadian. Or a member of those states we are quietly and politely converting to real coffee. :) Next we need to work on beer.
  • Oh! That is so good. It haaaas to be good for you...there's chicken. Right?
  • CINNAMON CREAM CHEESE???? We are so ripped off here.
  • That's not a bad thing. But then...leafs fan.... ;)
  • I'm glad it worked for you. And...ketosis works for others...CICO works for others...low-carb works for others...surgery works for others and praying to the magical weight loss gods works for others. And there's a study for every.single.one.
  • I'm also on 1200/day. And while I'm not vegetarian, some advice that might work on filling you up is not so much what carbs you're eating but how they're spread out. I find that if you keep your carbs even through the day it keeps you (read:me) from feeling too hungry ever. So, I'm on 100g carb/day. I eat 30/meal and the…
  • So, never mind the new shoes--this is my next purchase?
