  • Water is best for you. I know it's boring, but it needs to stay your staple. Drinking enough helps flush out what you take in during the day and keeps you from retaining water weight. I wouldn't start on diet sodas, they aren't good for you. I'd say to try some sparkling water! It will give you that fizzy-caffeine type…
  • Hey there. :) Congratulations on getting started on a new way of life! It's hard at first, but I promise you that once you get the scale moving you'll get addicted to seeing those numbers drop and it will get easier every single day! First of all, I wanted to talk to you about the scale not moving. I failed the first time…
  • When I get the idea - I go grab a piece of seriously peppermint or spearmint gum and start chewing on it. Helps the craving and I know if I try to eat anything it will be nasty! Brushing my teeth helps too!
  • If your weekly net is still good even with a cheat - you're fine! I just don't suggest stepping on the scale the day after you've eaten a meal like this, because it might demotivate you! I cheat once in a while, but it's very rare. It's difficult to go back to eating clean again after a night at a buffet or ordering…
  • It sounds like to be you are building muscle! You might have some water weight fall off, but you sound like you're at a good weight! The heavier you are, the quicker the initial weight falls off. If you don't have much to lose, it comes off much - much slower. :) Have you tried being careful with your sodium? That might be…
  • I was on 1200 calories a day, right now I'm eating more around the 1400-1700 a day. I thought at first that it might just be the low calories I was eating, but it hasn't stopped yet so I've been worried. I'll save up and go to the doctor and get some blood work done. It's so expensive! Thanks for all the replies. :)
  • Nope. I've learned to stay AWAY from the scale during that time of the month. I don't weigh until 4-5 days in, when the water weight finally falls off.
  • Nope. I'm kinda sitting here thinking what the heck, too. Her husband is paying her? Isn't money between spouses mutual anyway? I guess I'm just reading into something the wrong way because I watch too much TV. Too each their own, who am I to judge? Good luck.
  • A friend of mine swears by this woman's blog and did her cleanse she wrote about here: http://www.bloomingonbainbridge.com/search?updated-max=2013-12-02T04:00:00-08:00&max-results=2 You might have to scroll down a bit to find it. :)
  • I love eating 100 calorie bags of popcorn, some mixed veggie's with french onion greek yogurt dip, a rice cake with peanut butter and a banana on it (I use PB2 powder), a bowl of watermelon, etc. :)
  • Everything in moderation is all you need to know. I've lost close to 65lbs and I eat pizza, bagels, hamburgers, etc all the time. Hasn't hindered my weight loss in the least bit. I just make sure I stay within my calories for the day.
  • I was really upset about how many calories are in that, because I ADORE it on my grilled chicken wrap. I wind up eating a tiny bite and then tossing the rest of the package. It makes me sad.
  • Yes, it is. As long as you are eating at a deficit you will lose weight, it's as simple as that. Exercising helps it come off faster and helps you tone up - but if anyone tells you no they are full of BS. I haven't done much of ANY exercising recently, and I've still lost 1-2lbs a week over the last month. :)
  • I think you should watch your words and not come on here and attack people for the way they feel. I absolutely LOVE food, and that was why I weighed over 200lbs before I started. I am also an emotional eater. If I got sad, I'd reach for a snack. Stressed? Eat something else. Mad? Eat something else. It was what made me…
  • I'm sorry who cares? I use it to define myself. I'm a geek and I love being a mom. People can get over it.
  • It depends. :) It took me 20lbs to notice a difference.
  • I'd have to go with Cheese. I can't imagine pizza without cheese.
  • You're 5"7 and 167 lbs? It's going to come off slowly because you're much closer to a goal than most, probably. Are you drinking a lot of water? If you aren't, I suggest you start because I SWEAR that is the key to weight loss. Is your sodium intake high? Make sure you aren't overdoing it with sodium, it makes you retain…
  • Late at night I normally grab some fruit or some low-fat / fat-free cottage cheese, a handful of almonds, a piece of dark chocolate, a bag of 100 calorie popcorn, or I just drink a ton of water. :)
  • There's absolutely nothing wrong with having hips. I don't understand why people think that having no figure is more attractive these days. Complaining about being a size 8-10? Really? I just came from a size 20 and I'm in a 10-12 now and I love that I still have some shape. Cheer up - you actually have the body of a woman…
  • Drink a ton of water - trust me it does the trick! You really should try to do your 8 cups a day plus more if you can. To help me get started, I would take pitchers of water and add fruit, or apples and cinnamon sticks, and let it steep overnight so it had flavor! Also - watch your sodium intake!!!! Sodium makes you retain…
  • I was 221lbs and 5"6 after having my daughter. Before I got pregnant I was 155, and I'm almost there!
  • Wow. People should feel ashamed of their behavior.
  • I've been eating a late night snack this entire time that I've been on a diet as long as my calorie levels allow for it. I try to make sure it's nothing with a lot of sugar / sodium though. Meal timing doesn't matter! :) I've still lost (and kept off) almost 60lbs in five months doing this.
  • Hello! :) How often do you weigh yourself? That might help figure out where that silly 4lbs came from. I only weigh myself once a week to get a more accurate number. I used to weigh myself once a day but the fluctuations caused me to get demotivated so I stopped. Your diet looks really good, I looked at your diary. Your…
  • Hey there. :) Feel free to add me! I've logged in every day since I started and I'm almost to 140 straight days. :) I'm on all the time and try to be as positive and supportive as possible. Good job!
  • I don't understand people like this. My husband is quite a good looking man. I couldn't help but get a bit jealous when we first started dating because when we'd go out I'd always catch girls checking him out, but he always kept his eyes on me and the jealousy quickly turned into a sense of pride that I had such a guy!…
  • I weigh once a week. Why? 1.) It keeps me from getting upset when my body naturally fluctuates 2.) I don't freak out over every single little ounce day to day 3.) I weighed once a day before and I did nothing but get upset and go off-track I never weigh on my monthly cycle, and when I DO I always make sure it's first thing…
  • Hate to bust your bubble here, but I did lose 40lbs in four months, and I've kept it off. I'm still eating pizza, rice, hamburgers, pasta, ice cream, etc. Am I starving? No. Am I hating my diet and feel like cheating all the time? No. Stop thinking you speak for everyone. You don't.
