Like it. It does good things for my flexibility, in my shoulders and in my back, and freestyle always seems more effective after butterfly for some reason. One of my swimming teacher friends says "bum-bum-boing" to teach the rhythm.

I have the same problem. One of my substitutes is unsweetened iced tea with lemon, or just ice water with lemon. For low-calorie, low-carb beers, not that you asked, I like Michelob Ultra, Molson 67, and Molson 67 Sublime.

Keep at it and stay purple. Drink lots of water. Eat lettuce and add wheat bran or flax seed to your eggs (for fiber). Don't worry about quantities except for carbs. If you're under 20g daily, you are going to lose weight. I found it worked best in combination with exercise, and the best results were when I cut out…

Doing CPR for 15 minutes: 165 calories According to http://www.jems.com/article/health-and-safety/neat-calorie-burn-method-perfect-ems 2 hours CPR, 1320 calories. Log it. I don't know what's wrong with some of these people. CPR is hard work. How wonderful that it was successful.

If I stay low carb (and off alcohol), I'm a lot less hungry, which helps in restricting calories.

Ricist.

Yes, you look great. Fantastic.
-
Yup. Alcohol is not helpful, and it's hard to give it up.

Cutting down carbs (including wheat) and cutting out alcohol has really helped me. Logging everything helps too, somehow.

At 115, your BMI would be 20.0, which is in the "healthy" range. You are so close. Go for your goal. Listen politely to others' opinions and then do what suits you. On the way down to 115, see how you feel. If you find that you felt better at 120, you can relax a little.

When I was about 40, my doctor warned me that I should not run, or I would hurt my joints. He recommended walking instead. I ignored his advice, and sure enough ended up with very painful knees, limping, and limited mobility. Finally after several years I'm getting over that. I'm walking and swimming for exercise and I…

You're moving to Vegas? Good luck!

Yes. I need more pie right now so I can start fresh tomorrow with another pie. No point wasting it.

I use baby oil after every swim to cut down the itching.

A couple more ideas: - slow down and count strokes (per length). Focus on reducing the stroke count. (I need to get back to this myself). - try some different strokes - back, breast, fly. My freestyle always seems more efficient after fly, for some reason. - try some sculling - try some arms-only, including on your back…

I think sugar is more harmful than fat.

Try a swim or two with paddles to get that "feel for the water" back.
-
The best advice I ever got on this was "don't eat if you're not hungry".

A mile takes me 45 minutes.

I like water with lemon, or iced tea with lemon. How about club soda with lemon?

Just do it. And read this blog: http://www.thehappilyeverafterproject.com/

Congratulations. You look great!

I agree - alcohol seems to do me in, whether the calories fit into my quota or not. If I abstain for a while, I can start losing weight again. When things are going well, and I add alcohol, the weight loss slows, and stops, and eventually I start to gain. It should be a simple matter of calories - but it's not. There's…
