My moment came when I realized I couldn't even walk up to my 3rd floor apartment without being completely out of breath. And I couldn't carry my beach chair and bag from the parking lot to the beach without stopping for a rest. I was disgusted with myself and decided I no longer want to be like that.

I've had several different bands, including a FitBit. Like Staci said, each one does different things so think about what you want it to do and then find the one that does that. If you want one to mainly track your steps and sleep, FitBit Flex is great. If you want one to track your heart rate, you'll need to look at other…

Yes, do the free gym session thing. Also, there are a TON of free websites that show you how to do things. Here's a great link to Mayo clinic's collection: http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-living/fitness/in-depth/strength-training/art-20046031

I used to sleep-eat as well. I put a bell on the fridge to wake me up just enough for me to realize what I was doing. Also, maybe you're body is telling you that 1200 calories is not enough.

You're more likely to find similar friends if you fill out your profile.

I can totally relate. Some times I just back up or move over. If they persist, I just say I'm not really comfortable with being touched. They might look at you a little weird but they typically comply.

How do you know where you are when you didn't log?
-
I set an alarm on my phone for 8pm called "Log Food". I mostly remember now but in the beginning I would always forget.

This! Perfect!

I am the same way. I'm good all day and then I get home, have dinner and want to snack ALL evening. Like you, I'm not hungry. Mostly just bored. So, I taught myself to knit. This keeps my hands distracted as I watch tv. For me, it's all mental. If I'm distracted, I won't think about snacking.

I use the Microsoft Band because I have a Windows phone. It tracks steps, heart rate, calories burned, sleep, etc. It also shows notifications from your phone. The app is great. I like that you can look at it while exercising and see what your current heart rate is without pushing any buttons. It's a little awkward to wear…

A pet peeve of mine is when an instructors of a group class act like you're going to die in their class because you're overweight. Little comments in front of everyone like "you'll need to do the modification", "you can sit this one out", "don't exert yourself too much". How about you let ME decide if I need to modify an…

How about chili, bolognese sauce over pasta, frittatas, stroganoff, sloppy joes (loose meat sandwiches). My fav use for ground chicken is Shepherd's Pie but you have to bake that :(

My health insurance (Blue Cross) has a benefit (Blue365) where you pay $25/month and you get access to thousands of gyms across the country. In the town where I live there are seven in the network that you can go to, including Gold's. It's a great benefit as the gym where I go is over $65/month for a membership.

A trainer once told me that muscle soreness peaks at 36 hours and I find this to be true for me. If I work out Tuesday evening, I'm a little sore Wednesday morning but I'm more sore Thursday morning. Then the soreness abates as Thursday progresses. Also, I think I always feel better if I do some type of exercise. Certainly…

I have used NatureBox for about a year now and love their snacks. It's easy to customize what you want to get. If you forget to customize they are really good about sending you similar snack to what you've ordered in the past. I think NatureBox was offering a free first box, just so you can try it out. I love salty snacks…

Move to the tropics LOL jk

I like to think that everyone else is just as self-conscious as I am. They aren't worrying about what I look like cause they are too busy worrying about what THEY look like.

That is a great site. I have been wondering how other people see me or I look at someone else and think "I wonder if that's how I look". It's so hard to look in the mirror and actually see what's there. Some days I see a whale and some days I think, eh, not so bad LOL.

The books were terrible and lame. Can't imagine the movie will be any good.

The hardest thing about high school (and life in general) is being yourself. Others may ridicule you for things they are jealous of. I've learned most people who ridicule others are insecure about who they are. I agree with Savlona, being your own person is not easy but it's so worth it. Are you able to tell your close…

McDonald's Big Mac! I used to be able to eat a full Mac, large fries and large diet dr pepper. I stopped eating McDonalds about a year ago but a few weeks ago I got a craving for a big mac. I broke down and ate one. I immediately felt sick and it didn't stay down long. Never again. So gross!

I have this problem when I don't eat enough calories. I guess my body thinks I'm starving and holds on to everything I eat. Also, weight fluctuates >5 for me, depending on where I am in my cycle.

When the scale hit 250 and the Dr said I was pre-diabetic with high blood pressure. I got home that day and was so disgusted with myself. The next day I joined the gym and hired a personal trainer. Eating better has been a struggle but I keep working at it.

Looking for friends to add for encouragement and such.

I get up at 5am to workout and go to bed about 9pm. I set my clothes out the night before so when my alarm goes off I can just sit up, grab my clothes and I am dressed before my brain figures out what I'm up to. If I think about it at all, I go right back to sleep.
