I think it's worth chiming in if it's helpful, but if people are very clearly deluded then I'd save my sanity and move swiftly on. There are cleanses out there that can work for cleansing (not weight loss) and make ppl feel physically better. Some are pure psychosomatic. Mind over matter can also work!

*do it again (oops!)

I'm 2hrs away from day 2 of my repeat visit. MFP kept me on the straight and narrow last time so hoping I'll stick with it again. Unfortunately had 18 mtgs of medical garbage (.... and cake) and piled all of the weight back on again. I've done it once, I can d

You can absolutely make a come back and 500 calories really isn't that much to be concerned about ... or come back from. Don't sweat it (no pun intended)

YAY!!!!!! Good for you! :-)

-Wake up w/alarm at 5:15am -Stay completely still for 10 minutes while OH gets back into a deep sleep -Get up, tiptoe out the room and close the door -Put the kettle on -Get dressed for the gym -Make a cup and a thermos of coffee -Take my meds, vitamins & minerals -Drink coffee -Brush teeth -Kiss OH goodbye -Grab gym bag…

:explode:  :explode:     :explode:  SERIOUSLY?! WTF?!? Let's play this out a sec. If you are supposed to be responsible for someone else's weight - when you don't cook for them, raise them, educate them - then who is responsible for yours? If you are 'fat' and on par with your dad, what…

Similar story. Took me about a month of persisting in 2 classes a week before I really got in the swing of things and now follow instructions without adaptation. One thing that's crucial is to get your bike sorted (as it says above) - seat height and distance from bars (helps leg alignment and therefore knees) and handle…

OP responded earlier and noted that how she interpreted the discussion (forgive me, can't remember the page to quote OP directly) was that women were trying to get sexual attention when they dressed a certain way. How did this snowball from the topic of 'women dress for sexual attraction' to posts about rape and *kitten*?!…

It's expensive because its the latest 'thing'. Wait until the next big 'thing' is out and the prices will go down.

I'd consider a binge a combination of premeditated over-eatingalongside starting to eat when you're not hungry and continuing to eat way past being full

Agree, see a Doc. Does sound like you've got a trapped nerve, pinched nerve or a knot. All pretty easy (unfortunately) to do. It may just come right on it's own, it may need a relaxant or a bit of physio, but better get it checked out to know what the right thing to do about it is. Yes ... bad necks can definitely cause…

I agree with the other posters saying you have done so much for yourself - health, discipline, tenacity, persistence - all very highly admirable qualities. Have you thought about asking a personal trainer for advice? The cheats version (and non-committal) is where a gym offers a free 'taster' session. Not every exercise…

Yes, losing weight and keeping it off is supposed to be a lifestyle change, but many of us want the occasional treat (not cheat) as part of our lifestyles and know how to balance it out once its been had. Don't be so bl**dy judgemental just because our lifestyle choice is different to yours. If you don't want to read about…

There's a lot of people on the forums that will say the MFP count is exaggerated. I've seen it's pretty close to what the HRM on gym equipment says so, personally, I just average the 2. It depends on how accurate you want to be and why.

Nope, I had the rate stitched on to the butt of my jeans then shake it like a polaroid picture.

Ruby Wax is an American comedian but probably better known in the UK. She's very sarcastic, facetious and sardonic. She also has qualifications in psychology and does a huge amount of work - support, discussions etc - in that field. I'd take anything she says with a pinch of salt as I've never seen or heard her do anything…

UGH, hate this subject Next = 12 Dorothy Perkins = 12 Monsoon = 14 Zara = 14 Mango = 14 H&M = 16 in some, 8 in others (is that 'fashion'?) New Look = 12 or 14 Debenhams = 14 Long Tall Sally = 10/Small TopShop & Miss Selfridge = I can't stop laughing to give you a straight answer Wallis = 12 in tops and trousers, 14 in…

Well, if you were in front of me I would thrown stones at you, you evil, evil person! Yeh but no, but really, but ... no You acknowledged it, get it logged, remember how you feel right now and brush it off. You're HUMAN, welcome to the club

34, soon to be 35 ... but let's keep that between us, yeh? Completely addable.

I also go to the gym as soon as the doors open in the morning. I've only started eating breakfast in the last year (I'm 34) but can't do it before going to the gym, just ...... no. I just can't eat that early. I do, however, eat breakfast as soon as I get into the office. Whatever works for you!

I have the same hip problem, in that it does occasionally pop out and when it does it is nauseatingly painful. I used to also have clicking knees, but know they just crunch ALL time time and it is audible. TBH I got zero benefit from taking Glucosamine but I seem to habitually continue anyhow :-/ See a doctor who may end…

Almost 35, have an OH but won't be getting married for at least a couple of years yet and have zero intention of having kids. Society's ideas of marriage and children have signficantly changed over the years and continue to. The one bit where I see it slowest to change is the unwillingness to accept that some women (like…

First - HUGE congrats on the 10lb achievement! *applause* Second - how did you FEEL during those 4 weeks vs. now? Physically, energy levels, mentally. If it worked for you and you felt good, why change? If it worked but you didn't feel good then you probably did need to change. There are many people who swear by TDEE. I'd…

I've only just started doing ^^^this^^^ but have dropped 1.5lb already, so I'll jump on ^^^ this^^^ bandwagon

Wotcha! I'm midlands born to northern parents, but raised in the south. Not quite sure which colloquialisms I should be using but I'm happy to add or be added!

While I'd like to say "be thankful for small mercies", unless they gave you a local anaesthetic, it sounds like the strapping may be too right. Be to be safe than sorry .... get it checked out.

OH MY GOD I'm unbelievably (the right kind of) jealous. Very motivational! Mind if I add you to learn some tips?

This! If you're working out hard then your body needs a break or it WILL punish you for it. If you go for a bit of light work in between or some kind of gentle stretching, then do what you want.
