Patience is not a virtue of mine
After 2 major surgeries on my neck and piling on a little more than the 2.5 stone I'd lost before, I'm back. If like to say with a vengeance, but for the next 5 months I have to be super careful with exercise. It means it's all about diet for the short term. Booooo!

Holidays with the in-laws - FEEDERS!
Ok, so I exaggerate a tiny amount, but only that much. I have a week's self-catering holiday coming up with my in-laws who (I am very fortunate to be able to say) are the nicest, sweetest and adorable people. My mum-in-law is a life long devotee to motherhood and is guaranteed to be fussing over everyone and cooking up a…

The least fun part of 30DS level 1 is .....
Butt kicks. If we were married, I'd ask for a divorce. If they were my neighbours, I'd move. Seriously, my knees are held together with chewing gum and bits of string as it is. @ butt kicks .... you are evil and you suck.

Getting fed up with bad forum etiquette
First off, I'm still a newbie on MFP. When I found the site - the food and exercise trackers, the forums - I instantly knew I could easily get addicted. I took part in some fun discussions, some great lively debates, some comedic exchanges, took a bit of support, gave a bit of support. Over the last few days I'm not sure…

Tips for avoiding food cravings
Following on from a separate thread, I was curious to know what people do to avoid craving naught food. Is it just pure will power or are there some weird and wonderful tips? Personally (and probably a weird tip) but I brush my teeth with super minty toothpaste. If it's a I-would-sell-my-grandmother-for-ice-cream type…

Everything 'seems' right, but it can't be
Right ... I post on the forum and want to be supportive and helpful but I'm feeling a total hypocrite. I eat ok (not awesome, but ok), I exercise almost daily and really put effort into both cardio & strength. It took me a year to lose 21 lbs ... w/long term injuries and conditions, I'm sort of ok with that, but now I'm…

How do I slim down my thighs ...
.... apart from general weight loss? I've always had large thighs, some down to my frame and some down to building a lot of muscle many years ago. I'm not looking for any miracles and they'll never be matchsticks .. but I'd like to know if anyone has any good exercises to tone my thighs up and streamline. Any thoughts,…

Routines & Rest Days - What's Your Best Advice?
Here's the deal ... I've been told I'm not giving myself the appropriate rest days. I've also been told I need to switch up my routine to re-start my weight loss as I've stalled. I get it, I don't necessarily disagree ... but I'm stuck for inspiration. Here's what I do .... I go to the gym every work day of the week with…

Re-joined, re-committed
Hi, I'm pretty new to MFP. I used to have an account, but forgot all about it and created this one. I'm just short of half way to my target of 150lb, down from 196lb in April '12. I'm hoping that the tools on MFP will help me modify whatever I need to for the 2nd half of the journey. I've been usually hitting the gym 5…
