Here's the thing. I'm going to word this the best I can... I had the opportunity to attend school with a patient from 3rd to 9th grade and see these kids from an adult perspective and how young, immature, and often times ridiculous they are. Not that I was ever bullied but like a lot of you, I was treated poorly from time…

Wow, that's a huge difference! YOu look great!

What a heartwarming story!!!! You are doing great and look awesome! Keep up the good work!

Lol I love rants. I too am on the thin side but the older I get, the more honest I get with people. If they ask, I have to tell the truth. I've pointed a few people toward MFP.

Wow, awesome story, beautiful job! Totally agree with not relying totally on exercising to take it off, but a caloric deficit. So right!

Very interesting. Thank you. Over the past 9 months, I have logged and then averaged my calories on a weekly basis. I weigh about the same as when I started. I now know my body needs 1500 calories daily to maintain so I stick to it. I tried abandoning logging a few times over the past 3 years and gained 7-8 lbs before…

LMAO I love it!

Boy, you really remind me of myself when I was younger. You've been given some very good advice and I agree that guys need direct cues. The fact that he gets pretty flirty with you sounds like he's interested. It's just as hard for a guy to ask a girl out as visa versa. Guys appreciate not having to do all the work, you…

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks!

I think you should have a fun day or two. Determine how much over you are on Sat and Sun, then eat that much less Mon-Fri. Would that work for you? I too blow it on the weekends. Especially if I go out of town. Then it's blown for sure. I average my calories every week and usually stay at my limit or 100-200 calories over.…

For what it's worth, you may want to read this. http://stophatingyourbody.tumblr.com/post/23301392416/it-happened-to-me-i-had-weight-loss-surgery-at-17

You sound like an intelligent 18 yr old. I agree that the 6 month insurance program forces you to stay above 248/unhealthy. I also think whatever the reasons you came here are important. In your heart of hearts, are you second guessing the surgery? I know how it is to have your mind set on something. There's very little…

This is not a bad thread at all. Many people wonder what types of activities burn what. There is a website that you plug in your stats: weight, height, gender, age. They have tons of every day activities to choose from; painting, playing piano, you name it, it's there. Everything you do burns calories. Hey, if I'm burning,…

I never even heard the term "thigh gap" until I joined MFP and saw it on the message boards. Thank you all so much for your responses. I have been educated! :)

Absolutely. They can tell who is in shape, who works out and who doesn't.

I've had colitis for 15 years "off and on" but it doesn't go away in most people. It seems once it rears its ugly head, it's here to stay. I've tried a myriad of treatments from the SCD diet to chiropractic to anti-depressant/anti-anxiety meds. I've had remissions lasting a couple years at the most. I too wasn't agreeing…

Regarding BMI charts; they are accurate for MOST of society. People who lift will have more muscle and thus weigh more. I spoke to a doctor who said they can tell who is in shape and who isn't.

I will give you one little piece of advice for toned legs. In addition to whatever else you find, read up on isometrics. I've been doing them exclusively and it's done more to the shape of my legs than machines ever did. It's truly incredible and confusing at the same time.
-
WOW! You did it! You look so amazing! I was noticing in some of your before pics that you were "hiding" but not anymore! Congrats!!
-
Of course you can do this. Look at this woman's success story... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1102293-bye-bye-obesity-400-days-135-pounds-lost-with-pics My best advice to log whatever goes in your mouth to realize how many calories you are consuming. Then find healthier alternatives to your most eaten foods. I…

HOLY KAMOLI!!! You look wonderful!! What an awesomely written story! I truly enjoyed it! Thanks so much for sharing your journey.

Absolutely

Agreed

I know what you mean about the scale. In a certain respect, it really does matter unless we're competition body builders. You are doing a great job and remember that this is not a race. You have many years ahead of you. It took me one year to lose 12 lbs. Yeah, I'm a turtle but the slower you take it off, the more it'll…

Watch some episodes of the British TV program "Secret Eaters" on youtube.

We eat it like a vegetable and so since it's about twice the calories as beans, peas, carrots, I really limit my consumption of it.

Oh wow, this is good to hear! I had been wondering about this. I love my wine too and I also found that drinking from the smaller tasting glasses is smart. I usually only have it on weekends and have been finding I have to limit my glasses as well. "Don't drink your calories" Does Wine count? Nah!

I mean the Coke!!
