Likely some will fall off with pounding water a couple days... that is, if you have been active at all... 2.5 pounds is over 10k calories over your maintenance level... i dont drink, but ate very awful over Christmas break, didnt exercise, was just pure lazy and only gained about 1.2 pounds. Im talking wing, pizza, fried…

Be stronger than your excuses

As stated in the friend request, great job pal! How did you go about it? Aside from getting diet in check, what did your workouts and cardio look like?
-
Now we are getting somewhere guys... thanks for info everyone!

Recomp is very difficult add i have read a great deal about it. Do you think it would be best for me to up my deficit to say a 1000 a day and do hiit training and focus of fat loss while trying to maintain as much lean mass as possible with protein? Then come back in end and lift?

Sorry, i do alot more than elliptical. I was saying i just had that in my home. I run, do spartan races etc.
-
Sorry everyone, I guess I phrased my question and inquiry incorrectly. I completely understand calories in calories out to lose weight, as I have done this for using cardio and insanity. However, my holdup has always been seeing the scale move was more important than getting muscular and toning up as I needed that positive…

Sorry... i currently eat at a 500 calorie deficit...macros are currently 40/35/25... as for tracking, i obviously use mfp for my diet... i meant for lifting... example, steonglifts had an app that kept track of weight, reps, etc... this was in case of a deload being needed... i don't care to take a binder etc, but it was…
-
I understand sticking with it... im asking for a good program that you all have used... and that is easy to track progress etc
-
If i were to go out and run a mile on the track right now as fast as i could, id likely be in the 9:45 area... however when i run 5k distances, my mile pace is up around 12 minutes... im a big guy, 260 pounds.
-
Not sure either crzycat... didn't see anything at all wrong with it. Keep up the good advice
-
Awesome, thanks for the info...
-
How many times per week?
-
Thanks @Joenali what program or method did you use? Ie, distance, time, frequency, etc
-
Valid points everyone! I made myself spend nearly 50 minutes on the elliptical tonight... my polar ft7 said i burnt nearly 875 calories tonight... i guess that eradicated the blaze pizza i ate today... or the candy... or the bread... haha get the picture? Either way, i did more than i did in the last 2 weeks since my last…

I do have great friends... many of whom are in great shape. I completed the spartan trifecta this year with a group of guys. One of those has invited me to workout with him... however he is the type of guy that belongs on cover of muscle and fitness. I am really intimidated by that. My wife is much like me, has about 30…

Thanks dragon girl... i have seen counselors as well as my pastor. Im just so used to be able to say "ok, hit the gym, or don't eat those wings, etc" now it almost seems to be an IDGAF type mindset... the problem is, i do care. It's a failure thing for me.
-
Oh i know all about MFP... i used it to help me lose my 100 pounds... again my issue isn't not knowing the process, it's the mind games, etc. I have never experienced this... my motivation, desire, etc has always been there to push me through those temptations... for some reason, they aren't stepping up anymore. I'm kinda…

Footlong rotisserie chicken... bread hollowed out (saves over 100 cals) light mayo, vinegar, all the veggies... comes in right around 600 calories and is very filling
-
Oh I've done several spartans... im just looking to add some quick cardio when I'm bored at home or if its early in morning or very late... iam just looking at efficiency.
-
Yeah i still plan on hitting trails etc... just looking to improve my cardio endurance so i can lower mile time.... also to drop the 30ish pounds.
-
I'm thinking I'm going to go with the morning workout... i could easily get up at 5:40... work out an hour... get home and shower. My gym is only 5 mins from house. One question. How do you keep from waking your spouse?
-
I'm calculated to get roughly about 3400 calories a day... i usually eat around 2500 or so... i will check out that calculator, thanks
-
Shhhh. Don't tell anyone shammers... its part of a time experiment with dr emmit brown

All great info here folks! You early risers, what time do you get in bed the nights before those 5am (or earlier) wake up calls? Do you ever feel absolutely drained right after lunch when doing this?
-
I would start off using machines in lieu of the free weights... and i would definitely find an elliptical trainer/stair climber and make it my friend for your journey. Best of luck!
-
It took me roughly about 14 months or so to lose the weight.
-
How often do you all hit the gym v. Cardio? IE, do you spend an hour in the gym and of that hour 15 minutes doing cardio? Do you do this 3-5 times a week? Or is it weight lifting one day, cardio the next? I'm trying to grasp on to any tidbits that will help me out of the rut.
-
Sorry, just have always heard that after 40, you are on the backside of your life... didn't mean to ruffle feathers... my apologies

I was saying losing muscle from cardio due to the muscle i lost doing insanity... i went from 325 to 225 and could barely curl a 25 pound dumbbell. I was told this was because my body used my lean muscle as fuel because i was in a deficit and pushing my body. It sounded reasonable. Thanks for all of the advice btw
