I am with you. I am back after gaining back 8 lbs slowly over the past few months. I am amazed at how quickly it comes back, especially since we know how many calories each pound takes. Did I really eat thousands and thousands of extra calories over the past few months? I don't feel like I enjoyed eating any more than…

Has she seen a doctor for her problems you mentioned? For me, it was a good scare from a recent doctor visit that got me motivated to lose weight. My husband and I both had annual check-ups and immediately started to correct our weights after that. Set appointments for both of you to get checked out. Maybe focus on…

Can't you squeeze in a run or two each week to try to maintain some of your aerobic fitness level? Seems like your return to running in a couple months will be so much easier than if you go cold turkey.

Ran in running shorts today that did NOT hike up while running.

This also just happened to me. I was up 2 pounds for about 5 days, got frustrated and decided to stop weighing daily. next time i got on the scale ( a week or so later) i was down 3.5. it all evens out. if .5 bugs you, i suggest you don't weigh in every day.

I have been in your shoes. I echo the sentiments of the other posters in that you need some time for yourself. If money is an issue, find another like-minded mommy and offer to swap babysitting time. Also, find opportunities where you can take your son, but also have some time for yourself. For example, a gym with child…

It hurts. But as others have said, negative feelings can be a strong source of motivation. When you are sitting on the couch and don't feel like exercising, remember what he said and how you feel now. Sometime when I am exercising or when I am about to make an unhealthy choice, I think of past comments about my weight that…

I am 5'7". Started at 188.5 and am currently at 177. Would love to get to a healthy BMI at 159 and then see from there. The lowest I've been as an adult was 166 about 10 years and 3 kids ago!

I agree with this. My heart rate monitor estimates a bit higher than 100 calories per mile run, but I always round back down when I log in the diary.

I usually drop off my kids at school (and sometimes pick up) in my work-out clothes. I go to the gym right after dropping them off. I fit the gym into my day wherever I can, so I might be seen in the middle of the day in my work-out clothes. I have two younger children not in school yet, so when I go to the gym, they go…
