Leftovers! I try to cook enough at dinner so that I have leftovers the next day for lunch. Paleo dinner = Paleo lunch.

That vacation sounds awesome! I think you did great and I totally agree about airport food! Blech!

If you have a stairwell in your building you can go up and down stairs. I've also heard of people doing wall push ups, squats, other body exercises in the bathroom stalls at work - get your workout in a little privacy!

Agree with HKimery - different muscles being used. Take runners for example - many runners are great - at running! Then when they go do a Metcon-type workout (weights, etc.) they have a hard time. That's why it's important to vary your workouts - do functional exercise and be well-rounded in your fitness.

Produce - produce is cheap. You can roast almost any vegetable: squash, cauliflower, carrots, potatoes... you get the idea. All you need to roast them is some olive oil, salt, pepper, and an over set to 400 degrees F. Easy peasy and cheap.

That's conventional medicine for ya! Heart-healthy diet and all that crap.

OP: where do you live? My daughter just moved to Minnesota for college and I'm afraid she's going to experience her first frigid winter (we're from Southern California living in Texas - no cold winters!). I know last year MN had record temps going down to minus 50 or so... and if this winter is the same, it will be…

I agree with no orthotics because then you become reliant on them. I have PF on my right foot since December thanks to running. However, my gym advocates strengthening the foot instead of relying on inserts. I've found that splaying my toes and having my toes be free works wonders for the PF. Anything that constricts my…

I would cook it, separate the strands and freeze them in the portions you will need when it's time to prepare your recipe. Now if you want to freeze a dish that you can just warm up and eat then by all means, prepare the dish and freeze it! :-)

Yes, eat real food but live a little too - you're going to Europe for crying out loud! Enjoy some of the fine foods there, just don't go crazy but you have to enjoy something you don't have access to everyday! Enjoy your vacation.

Hello. I'm glad you increased your calories because 1000 is too low for anyone but a small child. Actually 1200 - 1500 is too low as well. The thing about Paleo is that it is not a short-term diet with the goal of losing weight - Paleo is a lifestyle for *health.* A person practicing a Paleo lifestyle/diet is not going to…

sounds excellent! You may have to call them and have them ship you more when it's time for a refill.

I've used this recipe and it always works: http://theclothesmakethegirl.com/2010/06/03/the-secret-to-homemade-mayo-patience/ The key is that the egg (and everything else) has to be at room temperature.

Agreed with Akima and may I add that you shouldn't let the scale rule your life. I think you should let the tape measure or your clothes be your guide... are your clothes fitting better? If so, great! Your body composition can change even if the scale doesn't reflect that. Keep in mind that going Paleo/Primal is about the…

I've done the Whole 30 and getting ready to again in September (but disclaimer: I only do CF twice a week). You will get that "carb flu" for the first week or so, but you can still fuel your workouts with real food such as some protein (i.e. eggs) and fats (i.e. avocado). Eating a Whole 30 compliant snack probably about an…

Good stuff, and the best thing is that boxes will totally accommodate members and tailor workouts around injuries if needed. I feel the same as you about popping pills... most people are way too medicated, take pills without question, and keep taking them without end but I digress. I hope you are back to 100% soon. BTW - I…

How about a giant salad? The greens won't be cold but they should be fine. Also, only EVOO for the dressing and you should be good to go!

Hi there.... I eat leftovers for breakfast many times... who says you have to eat traditional breakfast foods for breakfast? You can eat lunch or dinner foods for breakfast too!
-
Hi there... welcome to the group... I hope you get some good ideas here. Don't think of clean eating as "diet" but rather as a lifestyle and a way to eat moving forward. Be well.

Agreed - eating fat DOESN'T make you fat! Our bodies need fat.
-
Nuts and beef jerky are the two things I always pack when I travel. Dried fruit is good too.
-
It's a surprising decision and I think it will just open the door for non-compliance.

there are tons of half training programs out there.. start now so that you can build up mileage slowly... you still have more than 3 months! I started my half training last month and my half is not until November too. Good luck!

You are too young to ruin your metabolism, so please don't starve yourself! Opt for a low carb, no sugar, real food lifestyle. And eat fat! your body needs it. Stay away from gimmicks, processed/diet foods, artificial crap. No diet sodas or artificial sweeteners. Also, don't let the scale rule your life! Take body…

I've done this... yes it's good!

I use heavy cream in my coffee, sometimes I add coconut milk. I didn't care for coconut oil or butter in the coffee, heavy cream or coconut milk or both is greatness. I gave up the artificial sweeteners seven months ago and just drink the coffee with the cream and no sweetness.

Veggies can be less expensive than packaged food! Someone said to me, isn't it expensive to eat the way you're eating? I said, No, produce is cheap!

I love a simply roasted chicken. Coat the chicken with a little olive oil so that the skin crisps up and season with salt, pepper, your favorite seasoning. Stuff the cavity with onion, garlic, salt, pepper and any other herb or spice you like. The trick is to cook the chicken on high heat and on a rack. I'm talking 400…

Hello... I'm fairly new to this group but I've made clean eating my goal. My idea of clean eating is eating whole, natural foods and no grains, processed / packaged foods, and no sugar. So I'd say that a bagel is not a whole food because there are no bagel trees. Others in the group may feel different, I'm not sure. I'm…

Suggestion: eat something with gelatin to get some collagen in your system. I hear that helps with joints. Eating bone broth will give you gelatin.
