I 100% recommend investing in P90X, especially for toning. With P90X, you get some strength training days and you get some cardio days. The Classic Version of the program is probably perfect for what you are looking for.. I have done it twice solo and am doing an Insanity/P90X hybrid now and I really can't give enough…

I have done the Jillian DVD's you mentioned as well as Insanity and P90X twice. If you are looking for a challenge after you've completed Jillian workouts, I would recommend P90X. After you complete P90X then I would recommend Insanity. Insanity really is in a league of its own and it's better to start out with the lesser…

Awesome job! You look great AND I love that dress you are wearing in the original post :)

I am 5'5 and 125 pounds and eat 1,200 calories per day. I sometimes will have an additional 200-300 calories in there but its usually closer to 1,200. It works for me. In fact, it's the ONLY way I can lose weight while working out. Mind you, I also do an Insanity/ P90X hybrid and those 1,200 calories work just fine for me…

I really do not worry about it much. I also have my Sunday Funday's where I get together with friends, enjoy cocktails or whatnot.. It's usually once per week or once biweekly. I just make sure to eat healthy and work out the remainder of the week, which I typically do out of habit anyways. The one and only downfall for me…

As noted already, it is 10 days each level. I have completed 30 DS along with several other Jillian workout DVD's. I have also done P90X and Insanity, now doing a hybrid of those two currently. I had great results with 30 DS, lost about 15 pounds in a little less than 2 months and I was already in my target weight to begin…

Hah, I can't stand Akile (spelling?) either..She's always giving up and complaining.

30 DS was awesome for me when I began working out. After I completed 30 DS, I did a mixture of Banish Fat Boost Metabolism ( I recommend it for awesome cardio), 6 WK 6 PK, and Ripped in 30. I love all her DVD's. I am done with JM for a while, did 2 round of P90X and now doing a P90X / Insanity hybrid. I will go back to…

LOL! I agree with the original poster. I really am not a fan of Tanya, and find her quite annoying....but on the other hand, I know she could whoop my *kitten* if she wanted to, so props to her for having that body of hers!

Yep, I had the same issue. Except, I didn't stay the same weight, I had gained weight instead lol. Granted, I only went through 6 weeks of the Insanity program but in those 6 weeks I went up 6 pounds on the scale. I know it is discouraging. I stopped the program and now do P90X & Insanity hybrid, therefore I am getting my…

I had that issue when I first started working out too! I really am crazy about putting supplements or medications into my body and prefer not to... but I found that melatonin helped me out in the beginning. It's very cheap and natural and found in the vitamin aisles. I also know that chamomile tea is great as well as…

With Body Beast, what is considered 'heavy lifting' for women? I am doing my third round of P90X now and I still can't lift anything more than 20 pounds during the shoulders and arms routine lol! i wonder if BB would be too difficult for me. I lack upper body strength but can kick *kitten* doing leg workouts.

I am interested in it. I have heard it may be the perfect workout program for me since I want to tone and not lose too much weight. My BF has the program and he loved it. I am just afraid of doing it because it seems so um, what's the word...masculine lol! Anything is worth a shot though at this point :)

Pasta bolognese and TONS of it. Oh and don't forget the heaping pile of parmesan cheese on top of it. What can I say, I am Italian lol!

Anyone who insults someone because of their physical appearance is a snob. That is hitting below the belt and it is childish. You seem younger than most here on MFP. I'll tell ya, people will always talk and have something negative to say. Ignore them and don't let them steal your shine. You are doing good by losing those…

I have to agree with the poster above me, P90X. Depending on what version you are doing (lean or classic) it really does work ALL parts of the body. I have seen amazing results with P90X when I did it my first round. I am now doing it again. Any JM workout's are good too, but more so for beginners ( in my experience). P90X…

I completed the shred last year. I did it everyday, as she recommends in the video. Of course, took my one rest day off, per week. I also added in additional cardio though, as the 1 workout per day was not enough of a calorie burn for me personally. So, I'd do the 20 minute shred and then run an additional 20-30 mins on…

At this point in time I still do my 'binge drinking' on the weekends (mostly just Saturday).. Being I am 28 and all my friends drink like fish, it's quite difficult to get together with them without booze around. However, back about two yrs ago when I started working out religiously and really was watching what I ate, I…

Honestly, people rant and rave about Insanity but I am not a fan. This is just my opinion, so please do not get offended all you Shaun T lovers. The program is great for some folks, it just wasn't for me. In fact, I gained about 6 pounds doing Insanity. Lost NO inches. Gained em' instead! I did not follow the nutrition…

Yep. I was a chubby kid @ around 150 pounds. I lost a lot of that weight when I was around 21 and got down to 100 pounds. I know then I was sickly thin, being I am 5'5 so I totally understood why people were concerned. Most of it was due to stress though. Then I gained some back, got to 130 and people complained I was…

Same here. I am currently 5'5 - 125 pounds. I lost a good 15 pounds last yr and gained it all back when I quit smoking. I would really love to tone up more than anything but I would never say no to loosing about 5-10 pounds. Much like you gals, I do well during the week, work out to P90X and eat right. However, come…
-
LOL same. I am 5'5 - 125#'s...loosing too much would look unhealthy. I've been 98# before @ 5'5 and I looked anorexic. Right now, I wouldn't mind losing 5 pounds but its not necessary. I much rather tone and get rid of those annoying jiggly love handles.

I think the extra boost or compliments some people receive is what keeps em' going. It's nice to compliment someone. JMO. Plus, I do not think there is anything wrong with showing off all your hard work. It takes true dedication and motivation to lose the amount of weight some of these folks have. Give em' a break!

I have to say, you are GORGEOUS and you rock that lipstick! Not everyone can :)

I was on Depo a number of years ago. I gained 30 pounds within those two years I was on the shot. After I stopped getting the shot and had my period, I lost about 30 pounds. I did end up losing the weight, but the weight was extremely stubborn. It required a whole lot of dedication and personal motivation for that weight…

Thanks ladies! I know its the better idea to take the day off and see what happens tomorrow. I'm just hard on myself when I miss a planned day of working out. I may try to go for a simple long walk instead of lifting and the ab workout. At least I'll be burning some cals that way!

Thank you so much everyone!

Thank you so much TeaBea :)

I love Jillian too! I have almost every one of her videos, so I may go back to them if need be. I just want something different and Jackie Warner may do the trick - Thanks :) I will definitely check out her videos!

I can join a gym. However, it's a bit easier for me to do workouts at home ( I have the equipment needed as my boyfriend is into lifting). Plus, I work FT and go to school FT, so its very difficult to hit the gym. Working out in my living room is usually preferred. I really enjoy working out to videos. I wonder if there…
