  • I just made some last night. I made a roux with a little flour, butter, skim milk, and the seasoning packet from a package of wild rice. Then added it to chicken broth, water, the rice, and some leftover turkey. Even the kids loved it!
  • If you've gotten in your calories for the day, brush and floss your teeth and then chew some sugarless gum. If you've saved some calories, have a square or two of dark chocolate to satisfy the sweet tooth.
  • You have to work on your mind right now even more than your body. Use affirmations like "I am beautiful" and "I am perfect right now" and "I love myself". Keep finding things in your life to be grateful for and list them everyday - several times a day if you can. The only way to re-train your brain's stinkin' thinkin' is…
  • Here's a great site: http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes_menus/collections/healthy_holiday_cookies_recipes my kids love the boot tracks cookie recipe
  • Carly came back because she stabbed and killed her husband Lawrence in some foreign country. Vivian has only been on for a couple of short scenes. She's determined to avenge Lawrence's death. Chloe was in a coma because Kate was poisoning her. Love this escape - I've been watching for 30 years  I started with my mom…
  • Just watched it today. Awesome!!! Alison Sweeney was really great with her emotions. I'm so relieved it's all out. Now I hope she finds Sydney soon!! It will be sad to see Mia mourn her daughter. Does anyone think Carley is Mia's mom??
  • Refined carbs like white sugar and white flour, etc. tend to gather at your belly. I'm also small-framed and can tell in my belly when I've had too much white stuff rather than whole grains.
  • I picked mine because I like to remind myself to calm down, not take everything so seriously, and reduce the stress in my life.
  • I take a whole wheat tortilla (make sure to check calories on these - some have a lot). The I put in organic deli turkey and whatever veggies I have (red pepper slices, romaine, onion, shredded carrots). These are really filling and healthy. Or I drain a can of light tuna and substitue that for the turkey and add the…
  • I feel sooo much stronger. I'm in this to lose a few pounds and really get strong and that is definitely happening. I've lost 6-7 pounds and 1 inch in my waist (big deal for me). Mostly, I can just tell when I'm moving around that I'm stronger.
  • my heart is heavy this morning for my local boy Danny :brokenheart: :brokenheart: :brokenheart: I think Adam is good, but my vote is for Kris because the judges are sooooo into Adam that it makes me crazy! When the show even allows a guest performer to advertise for one of the contestants - I'm done!!
  • I'm on week 5 - wow "burn it up" is crazy!
  • Cous cous is best, but try to get used to brown rice and whole wheat pasta. After a while you'll enjoy them more than the white stuff and you won't have to give anything up.
  • Thanks for the great ideas!!
  • I've been put in charge of bringing appetizers for Mother's Day. Any good suggestions?
  • Thanks! It spoke to me when I saw it - I thought it was beautiful. Hope your flowers turn out. I have a black thumb
  • I'm excited that Danny's coming home. It's just fun to see all the whoopla. There's a parade, free concert, and he's singing the national anthem at the Brewer game. How fun!
  • Does anyone else get an energy crash in the afternoon? What do you do about it? I'm really careful to eat nutritious, whole foods every 3 hours or so. From about 3:00 until dinnertime, I'm exhausted. After dinner, I'm ok which tells me it's about food or blood sugar or something. Any suggestions?
  • Worried for Danny. I really wanted him to make the top 3 cause that's when they usually come home and I'm from his hometown area. I'd love to see that, but he was not good last night. I was actually cringing. Sorry to say, but I'm hoping Allison goes. I like Adam, but I'm over him and I'm tired of the judges fawning over…
  • Try not to say "never" about anything - it's too daunting. Instead, introduce whole grain breads more and more. I used to eat nothing but white bread and rolls, but honestly, I've completely lost the taste for them. Eventually, the whole grain stuff is just going to taste better to you. Same with breaking the high-sugar…
  • I ordered this several years ago and did it - can't remember the exact results. But, I'm on the 4th week of the program again right now. For me, it's a great program because I couldn't find the motivation to get to the gym. I've combined it with tracking calories on mfp and have lost one pants size in 3 weeks. The big…

  • We LOVE Nature's Path organic pumpkin flaxplus granola. It's got omega-3s, 5 grams of fiber, and 6 grams of protein.

  • Not to mention we tend to learn the most from people who hold up the mirror to our faces and disagree with us. Look at the mess some of these Hollywood stars make of their lives because all they have is a bunch of yes-people around them agreeing with them and telling them what they want to hear. If you focus on the "crap"…
  • I have to say this again - please, please, please try to stop wasting your energy on what other people's reactions are and focus on what you need from yourself. If you are this heavy, you need to strengthen yourself from the inside out. Paying so much attention to other people is counter-productive to that goal.
  • I am in my third week of doing slim in 6. I bought this several years ago and did it then and decided to do it now, again, before summer. (not sure if they've changed the cds since then). I think it's a great all around workout. In 3 weeks of staying within my calories on MFP and doing slim in 6 everyday, I have lost 7…
  • I thought Danny finally won the night. He's been a little lazy the last couple of weeks, but hit it out of the park last night. I'm hoping for a Danny/Adam showdown. I think Alison is good, but just does not appeal to me. Kris has really come on the last couple of weeks.
  • oooh I forgot, you have to spray the tops of eggrolls too so they get brown/crispy.
  • Tonight, I'm mixing up some extra lean ground beef with some taco seasoning, corn, and salsa. Put the mix into eggroll wrappers and roll them up. Spray a cookie sheet w/Pam. Put the eggrolls seam side down on 425 for 10-15 minutes. Turn halfway though. You could actually put in any filling you want, but these are the ones…
  • I know - some days you just don't feel strong. My husband had a bad day yesterday so we shared a bag of baked Cheetos and a bottle of wine. Do some extra exercise, drink lots of water, be kind to yourself, and holy cow - be proud of your 38 pound weight loss.
  • Those who have digital cable should have an exercise on demand channel. Ours has Jillian Michaels, Bob Harper, Tae Bo, Yoga, Pilates, etc. and it's something your already paying for. I do this all the time so I don't get bored.
