Not only does fruit have fiber, vitamins, and minerals, but plant foods have phytochemicals which help us to fight off disease. Enjoy fruit in moderation -…

Cooking in cast iron skillets and pans can add significant amounts of iron to your food and into your body. Especially if the food is acidic like tomatoes and tomato-based sauces.

Isn't that amazing? I try to tell people all the time that if they stop eating loads of sugar and salt that their tastes will change and they won't be able to eat like that anymore. Not many believe me. Thanks for posting.

The USDA recently lowered the recommended intake from 2500 mg to 1500 mg. That was a number previously reserved for people with high blood pressure - no more! The most sodium you'll get is from restaurant foods (just check out the nutritional facts for ANY restaurant). After that, you get it from processed foods. I was…

Tonight I'm making chili potatoes. I'll make chili with chili mix, turkey, tomatoes, and black beans then put it over a small baked potato. I just logged it in for my dinner and it only came to 457 calories which INCLUDED some skim milk and honeydew melon.

I use La Tortilla Factory low carb 80 calories, but the best part is they have 12g fiber and 8g protein. And they are not at all dry.

I've been making this EVERY week-end. 2 roma tomatoes - chopped 1 large avacado - chopped 1/2 c. sweet onion - chopped 1/4 c. cilantro - chopped lime juice to taste sea salt to taste I also, cut up some whole wheat tortillas and bake them at 350 for about 15 minutes for dipping. Even my husband loves this and he doesn't…

I really wish a couple of my favorite female characters would turn themselves around. Granted, Bo kissing Carly was unthinkable, but Hope just refuses to take any responsibility in this mess - and everyone is lecturing Bo - not Hope. She moved out for the 20th time - makes me crazy! Also, Stephanie. She came on as THE girl…

I hate them too, but I like what goes in them so I put all my salad ingredients (with some lean protein like chicken or turkey) into a whole grain wrap. I find it to be much more satisfying.

my favorite: whole grain tortilla, turkey, broccoli slaw, romaine lettuce, avacado, and raw red peppers. All that with a side of baby carrots is only 220 calories and better yet: 204 under Vitamin C, 16 under protien, 14 under fiber, and 22 under iron. Now that's nutrition!!
