I was always under the impression that you should be eating at least 1g of protein for every lb you weigh and doing weights to help retain muscle mass... Hopefully someone better informed than I can help you out!

This is a really good point, especially as it sounds like OP has been craving a fair amount of salt lately...

5"3- 5"4 (depends whether or not I've done yoga recently!). At the moment I'm 145, my goal weight at the moment is around the 120 mark but I'm going to see how I feel once I start lifting weights - my body fat percentage (20% in an ideal world) is far more important to me than the number on the scale right now. If my shape…

If you're having trouble with feeling guilty when you eat, maybe then snacks like nuts and fruit (maybe some cereal bars?) might help. That way you can have them with you as you go about your day and eat them when you're doing other things to help distract you. Sending lots of good thoughts and well wishes your way, I hope…

I fell off the bandwagon big time when I had an extended health scare last year and couldn't exercise! Would love to join in. :)

Same here - I'm mostly looking to lower my body fat percentage and get my fitness back so I have no idea what goal is going to look like! If anyone wants to add me, feel free. :)

I'm 23 and am here mostly to regain fitness and muscle after a health scare - the weight loss could be anything from 15-30 pounds! Here's hoping we all start to see results soon!

I'm sure it'll happen for you soon! Maybe your regimen needs tweaking in some way? Sometimes things can take a while to fall into place, I'll keep my fingers cross that it'll happen for you soon!

I'm sure you're more than aware of this but disordered thoughts around eating can be exceptionally difficult to shake off. If the scale was a big cause of your worry then it might be worth 'breaking up' with it. I know it sounds weird but why not throw it out (or smash it up, if you're feeling symbolic)? You can always go…

I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to the people who pointed out the dangers of a 1200 diet. I know it's not what OP was looking for but it was a wake up call for me - the whole reason I'm on a diet in the first place is because I'm recovering from health problems and, alongside gradually building up my activity level…

I was that ten year old! Except I was six... seriously, though, I was a nightmare. The major thing I would agree with the experts on is KEEP MEALTIMES RELAXED! If you feel tense, she'll feel tense and then she won't be in a mood where she's open to eating it. Keep it as calm as possible and, if she's anything like me,…

Best of luck! :)

Have you measured yourself? It's hella frustrating when it looks like nothing is moving but checking your weight/arm/leg measurements and body fat can help keep you sane whilst your body does it's stubborn thing - odds are it's building muscle! :P A friend of mine whose gone through this before says that one of the best…

Apologies if this sounds horrendously blunt, I mean no disrespect. Your dad is a man old enough to have an adult daughter - that's probably where his belly comes from! Your mother, aunts etc are a much better reflection of what your body is going to do. Even if you ARE genetically predisposed to tummy fat, there is stuff…

It sounds like you've plateaued to me - in which case, anything that will shake your body out of what it's "got used" to is a good thing. Try keeping your calories the same but eating different things from usual, especially if your weeks food is generally set in stone. Porridge instead of muesli for breakfast, veggies you…

Oh, oh, I've got one! If you drink more than 2 cans a week of diet coke, it starts to reduce the density of your bones. This greatly increases your risk of osteoperosis and (I think) arthritis. Hasn't helped me quit yet but it is one of my big reasons...

I don't have any fun goals yet, but now I want some! - Be strong enough to randomly pick my girlfriend up or give her a piggy back for more than a metre or two. - Keep up the yoga until I'm flexible enough to weird people out. - Have the energy to do something like the Tough Guy. (That's a looong way off!) - Feeling…
