Thanks. I went to that site and calculated by TDEE to be about 1700. meaning if I subtract 20% I'm at 1400. So, if I eat 1400, I don't eat back my exercise cals?

I'm following MFP's guidelines. I entered all my info and that's what it gave me.

How does it do that? I've been looking at them, but can't figure out how it measures calories burned without actually logging it in?
-
Frustrating, isn't it? I'm up two, down one, up one, down two. You get the picture. I've been doing this for over a month, now. I'm also doing 1200 cal. Eating back my exercise calories. Working hard at standing still. :( I am considering getting a HRM to be sure that I'm burning what I think I'm burning.

Been there! Both shoulders within 6 months of each other. The right shoulder actually refroze two weeks after surgery. Work the legs as much as you can. Obviously, can't do weights for shoulders, etc. Is he doing PT for you? Good luck!

Unless you're diabetic, like I am, fruits have more benefits than not. I know I don't eat a lot of added simple sugars, but was often over on my sugar. I ended up changing that macro to fiber tracking. I go over on fiber every day, but that's a good thing. Some fruit do have higher sugar ( which turns into carbs, which is…

By saying "bursting someone's bubble" ( figure of speech for us in the northeast), I guess I'm dating myself. I misinterpreted your comment. I apologize. I reread your post and realized you were just basically making a statement about the "Brazilian" products sold, and peoples fascinating with it. I meant that I was…

/\ well put! /\ Don't understand someone's need or desire to burst someone else's bubble.

I do the dvd's Mon Wed and Fri. Then I walk on Tue Thur and Sat. Sunday is rest day. I knew after 1 month I wouldn't be sending it back. I've worked hard before, but didn't get these changes. My legs are leaner. I never measured them, but even I notice the difference. My arms are toning. I've done Toni Little, Some boxing…

I very uncoordinated!!! So, I spent the first two weeks just doing the instructional part of each dvd, going through it twice the second week. I agree that it's a lot of cardio. I paced myself. I'm sure it's not for everybody. But, I do like it.

I've been doing Brazil Body Now for 12 weeks. Although my weight loss has slowed down, I've lost almost 3 inches from my hips, and 2 inches from my waist. I LOVE it. I'll be 49 years old next month, so I guess you can say, she kicks my *kitten*! But, She's 44. So, if she can do it, why not me??? It's a lot of cardio and…

I'm 49. Close enough?? Having trouble convincing my body that I mean business! Feel free to add me. I'm also a type 1 diabetic for 39 years and hypothyroid for the past 27 years. Although I love reading the success stories of these younger people, I also realize I'm in a different world!

Thanks fizz fizz. You're a brave soul to be experimenting. I'm so afraid of losing the experiment!. We all grew up with the concept that if you don't eat, you'll lose weight. And the reason we're all overweight is because we ate too much. I do feel more in control by logging everything I eat and do. Because my baseline…

bump.. There's good information in all the replies. I want to save this!

If your level is right, it's really tough to lose weight. I have a double wammy with being type 1 diabetic. I was told by my doctor to have my levels rechecked every 5 lbs of weightloss. she said the amount of meds I need will change according to my weight. Hopefully, we'll see if she's right. haven't managed to lose…

I've been stuck for awhile now, too. I have to remind myself that I have to be healthier doing all this work. One thing I'm reading a lot about is making sure we eat enough. I'm also doing 1200 calories, so on days that I don't get a workout in my day, I'm "in starvation mode?" I hardly ever have the 500 calorie deficit…

Incredible! No one told you then, but I'll bet they're telling you now how great you look.

I've never seen PB2. Where do you get it?
-
Bump. Is this the same for Type 1 diabetics?
-
I think you're on to something!!!! My exact thought when I read this. Most of us actually struggle with the every day stuff. We fall off, get back on. This seems extreme self pity.

I see exercise calories as a reward for my hard work. Also, I'm doing 1200 calories. So, if I exercise, I'll be way below a healthy level. So, It's one way of convincing myself it's worth the effort!

The peppers won't take much time. If you put it all in at once, they'll be mush and may end up making your pan drippings cloudy. The onions will take longer than the peppers, though. I'd throw some carrots in there. They will take just about as long as the pork. Good luck!

Would you take a bath in it?
-
I would totally refuse to have anything to do with it! It use to be an honor to be asked to be in someone's wedding. With the costs involved, then to be expected to be at a certain weight. That's not a friend, and why would you put yourself in that situation.

You may have been too strict starting out. This really has to be a lifestyle change. Find a happy medium that will fit your lifestyle that you can stick with from this day forward. The loss will come. It may not give you the instant gratification that you're looking for, but longterm, you'll be healthier. We all go through…

Wow. I knew I was lucky. Good luck with the wedding plans. He needs to hurry up and ask!!! I use to test both kids' bs ever since they were born. We figured out our daughter had it way before a doctor would have known. She had just had a physical 2 weeks prior and her sugar was fine. She had the chicken pox, and it…

Thanks! I'll check them out.

I do the same thing! Unfortunately, my weigh two days ago was better than today. Which means, I will be weighing in even more often until it goes back down.
