  • I did Day One on Thursday and it kicked my fat butt. I did it although the I couldn't jog the whole period for the last two. I did however extend the cool down walk so I covered 5Km. Work has been a bit full on since - but this week I'll have another go and will keep doing so until I finish day one properly then hit the…
  • Eating late has little to do with weight loss, but it is a good idea for liver health to not eat in the 2 to 3 hours before sleeping at least a couple of days a week. (Edit to correct a typo)
  • Take a look at the 16:8 form of intermittent fasting. People are getting some great results with this. Why not use Ramadan as a 30 day trial run at it, if nothing else you may find that the 30 days of doing something completely different helps your overall health/weight loss goals - and if it gives you a personal reason…
  • Well done on your journey so far! You don't need bluetooth for the UP, it Syncs with the App on your phone by plugging it into the headphone jack. A simple solution. Once you have your UP talking to your phone and you can see sleep and steps details then you are ready to link your UP account to your MFP account. (best done…
  • MFP doesn't know how active you *really* are. So based on what you tell it, MFP makes an educated guess. In contrast the UP knows exactly how active you are. The adjustment works such that if you haven't been very active in a day you'll get calories taken off your daily amount to keep in with your weight loss goal. If you…
  • I am so glad to have been off the prozac for the last 14 months - but there are some mornings where I miss it. Still don't miss the weight gain - 14lbs for each of the 5 years I was on it. 5 Stone, man that's a pain. Still 2 down. Hope you are all having better days.
  • I maybe a broken record willowfrosty: those possibly the two most important things to do when blasting off the pounds. CBA has always been my downfall, and the reason why things in the past didn't work. The MFP app is a great way as I just do it as I eat it. (give or take a few minutes, it would be rude in company, but as…
  • Sorry to hear that Flax, here the wikipeadia info on the stuff : Hopefully it is short term fluid retention. (fingers crossed)

  • Really liking my UP. It is great for tracking movement and sleep, but it is the little things that make it great. * Setting an inactive reminder, so if I haven't got up and moved in an hour, it reminds me with a gentle buzz * Alarm - having it buzzing on your wrist is a different alarm and works for me. * MFP inactivity…

  • Got my UP this week and loving it. graham<at>grahamharrison (dot) me (dot) uk - feel free to add me on MFP and/or UP
  • Thanks for that - I had not found the group. Been using the Up for a few days now and really liking it. MPF friends and UP Team mates welcome.
  • SW = 123.4Kg (271.5lbs) At 122.4Kgs I will have made a 10% change! As 13.6Kg is 30lbs and also 10% of my original weight, my goal is get to 108.8Kg which will be the 20% marker. So I'm hoping to lose 32.2lbs by Mid October and show those who think I'm just playing at this what for! Good luck everyone.
  • Hi Everyone, Just wanted to see how everyone's week is going. Hope you are all doing ok. Cheers, Graham.
  • I've found - when my HRM was working - that endomondo - although overestimating some - was far closer than the generic MFP database. I often go walking with a friend - MFP has us burning the same, whereas endomondo gives me more than her. I feel that's about right as endomondo has taken account of the fact it take more…
  • My (mini) goal was to get rid of 10.6Kg before the new school year (beginning of Sept) - I'd to step that up to your goal and blast the 30lb - or as we are meant to have gone metric in the UK 13.6kg - by Early mid October. So if it isn't too late, please count me in.
  • Team 3 - Shrinking Violets. 24/6/13 Weigh in. 123.4Kg (271.48lbs) [ - 0.8Kg (1.76lb) ]
  • Well put FlaxMilk, well put.
  • Hey Willow. Firstly *hug* you sound like you needed one. We all have weeks which throw us off a bit - I've been really low this week and I couldn't tell you why. It's not the being knocked down that counts, it is how you get up and move on. Seems like you have done a good job at that. I'm sure come Monday's weigh in it…
  • lots of good advice. I'm walking for excercise and doing about 3.9mph and thinking that jogging running has got to come soon. I use a very cheap pair of trainners at the moment (I'm saving for something better, but the mortage has to come first), it maybe a little while before I move to c25k. Still it will give me chance…
  • Just turned 40 and started to work to get rid of the extra weight. Like minded friends welcome/wanted to share the journey with. :)
  • Hi. I've fasted for sometime one day each week - no food but water is fine and if I'm visiting the housebound I may have a black tea or coffee so as not to offend them by turning down their hospitality. I haven't noticed any problems in the past with my metabolism. At present I am trying the 5:2 diet and once I've gotten…
  • I've just seen a post about parkruns.org.uk and there is a weekly 5K run about 10mins away, so I'm thinking of giving it a try. At my size I'm not going to break any course records, but it would be nice to pick up the pace a bit (I currently walk 5k in about 52/55 mins).
  • Thank you. I can walk 5km in about 52min at the moment, this is just thing I need to start looking towards C25K!
  • Hi, I'm Graham. I have had a problem with weight for about all my life, but a bad end to last year and a worse start to this has at least kicked my butt into gear. I was 136Kg (299.2lb) I'd like to get to 67Kg (147lb) but somewhere around 70kg if it looks and feels like the health point wouldn't upset me. I track…
  • Thank you.
