I attempted yoga the other night and almost tipped over but I'm still working on my zen. I need to learn to replace the distraction with some ohm.

I'm back with MFP after a long hiatus (and gaining a lot of weight back). That was my first small step. Today I walked a mile (big deal, I know).....chugging back up a small hill, I really wasn't sure I could keep going but I focused on the ground a few feet ahead of me and kept going. I'm back home now and finally stopped…

I'm in the same boat. I lost a good amount of weight over a year, and then sort of fell apart when the weather got really nasty and I got lazy about exercising. The exercise and logging seem to be the two things that keep me in line, and when one or both fails, then I fail. I've gained 35 lbs in the last year. I know it's…

I have no idea how to post a picture, but I think I'm currently a 20 but would like to be 12 or 13. I did just change my profile pic to show my most recent picture if that helps

I try to look at my exercise as a medication I need daily. If I hadn't lost all this weight (and exercise did play a part in that), then I would be on medication that I would need to take every day for diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. So I figured the choice was mine to make.....take medication every…

Today is my 356th straight day of logging. There are days when I don't eat as well as I should, but I still log every bit of food I put in my mouth, and I'm glad I do, because even if I have a day where I'm over my calories, I'm holding myself accountable, which isn't something I ever did before.

bumping to save the link! Using the beginner workout on Nerdfitness, how long does it generally take to see/feel results? I'm not expecting a beach body or anything, but what's the average amount of time until I could go from say, a single circuit to two, or from two to three?

I have had this problem from the beginning, but I'm working on getting this little problem under control. I found that if I went for a quick walk as soon as I got home from work, I tended to not eat until I actually sat down to eat dinner. Once the bad winter weather showed up, that was another story! I plan my dinner…

I had no idea there were so many verses to this song! Love it! Never know what I'm gonna learn here!

Reading through all these, it's nice to know that I may not see myself as fat some day. I have a trip to Seattle coming up in a few weeks and I'm really (REALLY) worried about fitting in the 17 inch plane seat. I'm wider than 17 inches standing up, let alone sitting down when I get the dreaded butt spread. I'm down from a…

Markdlennon - You look so familiar....do you live in PA? Nevermind...after reading through the rest of the posts, I realized you looked familiar because you look like Carson Daly. :-)

I found that the first three or four days were the absolute hardest. You're trying to establish new habits, and you have to check the calories of everything you eat and log a lot. Weighing in after the first week, I was afraid I hadn't done anything right and hadn't lost anything, but I did lose and continued to lose about…

Snudgie - You had me at "well this was day one." I literally just read every single reply to your OP (original post, in case you're not up on the MFP lingo). Everyone has been telling you that you can do this.....believe in yourself and us. I will be following your posts to make sure you stick with this! We have all had…

I guess I fall into the wimpy woman category. I have a coworker who is a bodybuilder. I asked him what I could use for weight to add to my squats. He suggested I use a 25 lb kettle bell to start, and to do four sets of 15 reps each. I do just that and I do it twice a day. I find that by the time I have finished the fourth…

I probably should have rephrased the term "sneaking." I don't hide from anyone when I am eating what doesn't fit into my daily calories/macros. I don't know what the correct term should be.....but an example is when I'm cooking dinner. I have food on the stove and I reach into the fridge for some ingredient I need and spy…

I have been having a similar problem....my downfall started with the holidays, and although I haven't gained weight back, I'm not losing. I have a week where I drop two pounds, then gain three, then lose 3, then lose one, then gain two. It's pretty much like being in maintenance I guess, which is nice to know that I can do…

I buy it fresh, chop off the tougher ends, and then lay it out on a cookie sheet in a flat layer. Give it a spray with some olive oil (you can buy a spray thing or use the kind that comes in a can like Pam cooking spray). Sprinkle a little ground black pepper and sea salt and put it in the oven around 350 until it's done…

Thanks! I bought the kettle bell this past Friday. I did 2 sets of ten squats with it on Saturday along with 1 set of ten without it. I did the same on Sunday. Yesterday I upped it to 2 sets of ten in the morning with the weight and another 2 sets of ten with the weight after work and repeated that today. Right now, my…

I feel compelled to try making these myself. If I make them this weekend and get a good result, I'll post the recipe with nutritional info for all the ingredients. Anticipating some serious yum!

I have started a journal for times when I want to eat but know I shouldn't. I have Microsoft Word on my laptop so I started a document one day and just kept it going. I started by writing out how I got so overweight and why I wanted to lose weight. Then I added to it every now and then. Then I started using it to vent…
