This is awesome. You may have been a little concerned about the (in your mind -- unorthodox) approach, but it's working like a charm. Keep it up!

Congratulations. You are making terrific progress.

What a super job. Congratulations on your fantastic progress and good luck with your continued success.

One of the challenges of putting this kind of question out there is the wide variety of responses. Several responses have great information, but your personal situation is just that...yours. Especially when you mention about eating disorders in HS and college. I have people in my life who have struggled with this, and the…

Hi, Jen. Welcome aboard. One thing I really like about MFP si the personal accountability. I'm down 31 since I started a few months ago, and finding the right group of friends can be a very positive encouragement. Track everything here. Workouts, food diary, water and weight, and am constantly looking for ideas that will…

Congratulations on your journey. Enjoy the view! Saw your video and it was inspiring.

I can understand how you're so hungry. For now, eat some raw carrots, celery and cucumbers. Also, try drinking 2 16oz glasses of water Here's a couple of recommendations for the future (Note that I don't know any restrictions you may have, so please take these with a grain of salt): Add protein to your diet, Protein is a…

Sorry for the late post. Didn't see your response. I have been doing the Fast Metabolism Diet for the last several weeks. Snacks changes depending on the Phase (day of week) but they are either fruit (Mon-Tues), protein (usually HB eggs or some other protein Wed -Thurs), and healthy fat and veggie (Fri-Sun Almond butter…

Congratulations on some fantastic progress. It's really a day by day thing, but it certainly is fun to look at the big changes and appreciate the little fights we win each day. Living healthy is a wonderful thing.

Terrific progress. Weight lifting is awesome. It really teaches you that the mirror is a much better determiner of progress than the scale. How you look (and feel on a daily basis) is much more impacted by your body composition than your gross weight. By the way, the reason you're so down on your scale might be that guy…

You've taken the first step of recording and tracking your exercise and eating. Failure would mean you aren't doing anything. You're getting back up!! And there are lots' of exercises that are back friendly. Don't push it but be consistent. Remember that just a 500 cal deficit a day puts you at 52 pounds lost by next June!

That is such a terrific accomplishment. Congratulations.

What a tremendous accomplishment. Best wishes on your continued journey! Because healthy lilving is just that. And it's fun, exciting and challenging.

I love long term success stories like this. Outstanding.

Crystal, You're one pound closer to your goal than you were before you started. One important thing about weight loss is to not starve yourself. I eat 6 times a day (3 snacks and 3 meals) and have lost 21 lbs in about 30 days. Don't be afraid of the mirror, and find supporters who will encourage you. Best of luck here.

Heather, Your perspective of 5 meals is right on target. 5-6 times s day is wonderful, although it might be easier with 2 snacks and 3 full meals. Take a look at the Fast Metabolism book by Haylie Pomroy (B&N). Just finished 28 days and 20 lbs lost. The diet portion isn't the big item; the structure, volume and food…

Hello Candice, I'm so sorry to hear about all of the hurt you've experienced in your life. I admire your courage for sharing so openly. And as a dad, I can only hang my head to hear about how things have been for you. I'm sorry to hear about the hurt and the pain you've experienced. I'll be praying that this is the first…

Bravo Cindy. I love your comment about the journey. That's exactly right!

Congratulations on your incredible results. Super awesome! I would give you a couple of ideas. One is the types of food and how you are combining them. Since your metabolism is working fine, and you are working out so hard, you need to be sure that you are not putting your body into starvation mode. I'm assuming that you…
