  • The anonymity of posting in a forum invites people to say (write) things they would never dream of saying in real life. I try to keep it nice by reminding myself: somebody I know IRL might be lurking and recognize me! No really...I just think that it's best to be supportive or positive or just not contribute to the thread.
  • Welcome! You'll find loads of support and lots of help when you have questions. I'm pretty new here myself and have found that it is a very informative and easy to use website for keeping track of your food intake and exercise as well. I'm off to read your blog. :)
  • ^^ This. I've started making SURE I load up on the water each day. I am so hydrated, I slosh when I walk. I start off each morning while waiting for the coffee to brew, by drinking a 16oz glass of water. I keep a water bottle handy all day. I also tend to knock back a glass or two in the evening too, not good for remaining…
  • Thanks everyone! The one that was unfamiliar to me was choi sum. Had to look that one up...turns out it is what we call around here: baby bok choy, which I've seen but not bought.
  • Oh and. You are not even close to your protein goal. Maybe some more high protein foods during the day to make you feel full longer.
  • Ayup! This is what I do. Or from lunch or from breakfast...either way, save some calories for that night time snack. Then don't go nuts and use more than the allotted "banked" calories. Also, diet cocoa is nice @ 20 calories per toasty cup, and you have to drink it slowly....just saying! :D
  • Would a sugar free chocolate hard candy work? I bought a bag of Jolly Ranchers a couple weeks ago and have hit it a couple times for a "sugar" fix. The best part is it sits in your mouth and you savor it for a few minutes til its all gone making the fix last a bit longer.
  • I have run into this many times. First, never underestimate the power of a search engine. Somebody out there may have found the answer to the nutrition info on the salad. If that doesn't work, work up what the recipe could potentially be...I even overestimate to be sure, and go for it. Lot of work but it'll be there for…
  • It has taken me 20 years to figure out the secret to roasting vegetables. 425 to 450 F. Coat veg with olive oil, put on cookie sheet in (here comes the secret) the BOTTOM rack. Roast, turning when needed til browned and tender. Here is what i roast this way: Broccoli with whole cloves of garlic Cauliflower with curry and…
  • You have taken the first step to take charge of your life again. God bless you! You can do this.
  • Breakfast is a blur for me. Im busy and never quite awake enough to bother. So i do it automatically. Coffee w half and half Protein shake with cinnamon and MCT oil added. As of this morning I started adding a tbspoon of chia seeds Works for me!
  • Trentwiggly is a silly name for my cat. His name is Winston...so I have no idea why I call him trentwiggly!
  • Actually, the butter spread over four servings is just a tblspoon per serving...Not horrible, IMHO. But since you are making a roux with it you could just make an olive oil roux (for the omega3s) or just use an equivalent amount of broth and add the flour to it cold, making a slurry then add that to your stuff. Personally,…
  • Thanks to your "toilet clogging" reference, I went out and bought some today. I mixed a tablespoon in about 8 oz of water and let them gel. Then I mixed in a slender stick for some flavor. I thought I would be grossed out by the gel, but I actually dug it. I also like the crunchy seeds too. All in all a good thing to try.…
  • Sriracha on fresh pineapple! I'm telling you it rocks!! But never, EVER mix it with homemade mayonnaise and dip sweet potato fries in it. It is TOO good.
  • I couldn't care less what the number is. I'm built like a viking. BMI is never friendly to me. This weight chart looks spot on what is healthy for me. I've been super low before and super low for me is 133lbs and I'm 5'8". I looked emaciated, and I even had a bit of muscle. Now I've got some great muscle mass and know I…
  • I'd eat an extra avocado. :D Or some homemade granola. I could live off this stuff but I can't increase my calories yet.
  • WOW! You look great! I'd be interested to know how many inches you've lost. Keep up the good work!
  • Fantastic!!! Your facial expression says it all. You look so pleased, as you should be! Keep up the good work.
  • Ren and Stimpy
  • OOO Thanks for the website! I do weigh every day because I like the self torture ;) But I have one of those devilish digital scales that SUPPOSEDLY shows body fat %, which I totally ignore. This website will help get me a truer figure I hope.
  • Okay, I see your points. I'll stick with the bloated, first thing in the morning because my weight loss will be more dramatic when I next weigh. Thanks!
  • Evidently he doesn't apply himself to being a good date either. What a piece of work. I wouldn't bother to respond to his text. If he is as smart as he thinks he will figure it out.
  • Jocasta. I'll still be on the outside looking in, but tough as titanium. Plus, I never have to think about what I'm going to wear.

  • This is for those who dig the sweet potato fries. This is the FIRST recipe that I've found that actually makes them crisp~! The key is you must soak them, and the cornstarch is so necessary. http://www.theartofdoingstuff.com/guaranteed-crispy-sweet-potato-fries-sriracha-mayo-dip/ I miss the srirach mayo dip though.....so…
  • Hi, I'm new here but thought I'd add my recipe: Sweet Potato, peeled and chopped to apx 1.5 inch chunks, add to a big ziploc type bag and add just a bit of olive oil. Then any spice or herb combo that strikes your fancy--get creative...sweet/sour, sweet/salt, sweet/hot or just plain sweet! Rosemary and salt is FANTASTIC…
