Just try to remember why you want to loose the weight. As long as you have the drive you can do it.

I just done rehab for knee surgery, the most comfortable for me was low resistance biking. You don't need a lot of pressure on your knees but you can get your heart rate up.

Getting rid of fat in particular areas doesn't really work but if you firm up the muscle underneath while you lose weight the appearance will change at the very least. Try pile squats, or thigh squeezes, if you're at home just use a small Pilates ball or even just a rolled up towel.
