I keep myself motivated by trying to find my wall. So far, I have busted through all the "walls" I have expected to stop me. Today I ran 21 miles (26.12 if my fitbit is correct) on a trail with 3412 ft elevation change. I got back to my truck and did 9 min of yoga/stretching and some crunches and felt GREAT! I am 45 and…

I haven't had any added "processed" sugars in over a month. The sugars in my diet have all from vegetables and fruit, with the exception of 1 tsp of raw honey and 1 agave stick during this time. My thoughts are if this is what you want to do, just do it! Stay hydrated and keep your goal in mind. I still make a jumbo batch…

Good morning! What a great post. I am also 44, I have DDD (lumbar laminectomy in '01) and Raynaud's. I got up this morning with the intention of doing my 5x5 workout, a 30 abs challenge, abt 15 min on the elliptical trainer and a 3 mile run. Pain limited me to the ET and run. Knowing what pain is okay to push through and…

Paid registration for http://www.greatlakesendurance.com/michigan-races/grand-island-trail-marathon.html and http://www.hotchocolate15k.com/nashville/ well, a pre-loved treadmill would be nice too, as my old one died!

Fabulous transformation! I have DDD and had a Lumbar Laminectomy 11 years ago. I started working out April '13 and last winter was my first virtually pain free winter in 20+ years! Strengthening the core is crucial to a stronger back and exercise keeps the discs (and joints) lubricated! Congrats on being able to keep up…

I agree with Foodiethinkin, read! Educate yourself... Then, start small, how many fizzy drinks do you consume each day? Make a plan to reduce how many you drink by 1/2 in a week or 2, depending on how many you drink. Cut out one for 2 days, then add on to it every day as you can until you are fizzy drink free! Or go cold…
