I’m eating at a deficit of 500 calories daily and keeping my protein level around 120g. I’m 153 pounds. I have body composition scales that give me my body fat reading and although I’m aware it isn’t likely to be accurate, I’m using it as a guide to see the trends. I’ll be weighing on it once a month and in the same…

Thanks for this. I agree that I’m being impatient and maybe just need to calm down a little. It’s jist very frustrating. I’ll tone down my workouts do I’m not struggling the rest of the day, and keep at it for a few more week. Hopefully, I’ll report fat loss! Thanks for all your replies. You guys rock ❤️

I was eating at 1700 for a month and didn’t lose anything. On the contrary I gained some weight. That’s with logging everything that passed my mouth. I did some research and was told not to weigh on the scales but slowly increase calories to around maintenance so that what I did. I just feel that after losing the initial…

Just to add, I am killing it in the gym every workout. No slacking. I’m 34/f/5’ 7 and 154 pounds currently

I’m just fed up and so demotivated at the moment. A few months ago, I was fed up that despite eating at a deficit, I wasn’t losing any weight and I was definitely eating at a deficit. I decided then that as I had under 10 pounds to lose, I would try to slowly increase my calories to reverse any metabolic damage I felt my…

Thanks to all of you for your replies. I didn’t take measurements and am regretting not doing so!

I went from 1750 calories to 2200, but increased by 100 every two weeks gradually. I used to do 20 min of intense cardio after my weights session but took that out and instead, did an 60-70 min of weights

Thank you! I won’t lie, despite people on here Telling me to increase my calories, I was incredibly reluctant but it works! I’ve stopped weighing myself too as my relationship with the scales is volatile so am just going by how I feel and look

Oh gosh, I have just seen these replies now. You guys are the best! Seriously, it was like a light bulb moment of ‘duh’ course I haven’t gained a crap tonne of weight by overeating for one meal! I have had such a negative experience with food in the past and have come a long way with my disordered mind frame and food but…

Not really focusing on gaining weight or losing it. I’m trying to not be fixated by the number in the scale. My main objective is to increase my metabolism so slowly add in calories until I find my maintenance. I have changed my cardio to two 15 min sessions of hiit sprints on the treadmill a week, 2 upper soy weight…

Thanks for all your suggestions and advice!

The dr was conducting research on hearth health for people on my age bracket and needs a sample of 500 participants. The body fat caliper check I sort of the routine, alone with an ECG, weight/height check. He said I was the 300th person to particular so he’s well versed in how to use the callipers I would’ve thought.…

Exactly, I was eating at too few calories, doing a tonne of intense cardio and now I can’t seem to lose any weight unless I cut down further but I’m starting to feel lethargic so this isn’t working for me. I want to increase my metabolism so I can fuel my workouts to lift heavier and eat more too
-
Oh man. My aim is to lose fat and retain muscle to help my metabolism adjust. Not to do more cardio. I actually thought I was really limiting cardio by doing what I'm doing. Not that it was cardio and not strength training! I'm lifting as heavy as I can during this workout
-
So I weighed in after my first week of reverse dieting and haven't gained! That's despite an increase of 150 calories a day. So happy with this. I think I'll stay at 1900 calories a day for the next two weeks and then tweak as necessary

Lunges with weights, squats with weights, walking lunges, double Kettlebell cleans, weighted bench step ups. I superset all my workouts and am seriously struggling to breathe throughout. I wear a heart rate monitor which informs me of my heart rate. I'm not unfit even by a stretch. Would this qualify as cardio too?

Thanks for your answers! I think I will increase my carbs to see if that helps. I have no idea why bf the thought of lots of carbs scares me even though I realise the science behind it

I watch fitness youtubers who have disclosed their body fat and have showed pictures of how they looked at certain body fat percentages and I look nowhere near as lean as they do at 23% I inputted these measurements into another site, using the same formula and it came out at 31% so I'll take the reading with a pinch of…

Exactly. This is why I was sceptical as I carry most my fat around my stomach which he didn't measure!

Thank you for the link. I do have limited equipment at my gym so will have to find a few alternatives

I'm not following an actual programme though I know I should. Which do you recommend?

I don't recall posting whether it was ok to add calories gradually. Nor did I previously breakdown what how I propose to train to get maximum results. I'm asking on this community because I need assistance from people who have experience as I don't trust myself enough to go it without getting advice first. Is that ok for…

Thank you for all your replies. I've downloaded 'happy scale' and like the idea of daily weigh ins that show you an average. I think that will help me when I'm feeling deterred!
-
I don't know if I have the willpower to just throw it out altogether. I'm worried that I'll go out and buy another. Actually, I do like the idea of leaving it somewhere where I only can access it once a month. I'll do that. Thanks for the replies!

Hi, yes I have been counting macros this past year too. Im hitting 110g protein, 50 fat and 200 carbs. I am increasing my fat and protein now, while keeping my carbs at 200g..this is with my new calorie adjustment of 1900. I'll experiment with this and see how I get on. It's going to have to be trial and error

The one time I religiously stuck to 1750 for two consecutive months, I lost the 8 pounds but I've not been able to stick to that amount since. Well, not for a few weeks at a time. I find I'm starving after a few days of eating this number of calories. Thanks for your suggestions. I think I'll increase my calories to 1900…

I stuck to the calories religiously and lost 8 pounds in 2 months but it wasn't sustainable. I gained it all back in 4 months. I weigh and measure cerytjing, tracking everything on mfp for the past year. I weigh everything that enters my mouth and meal prep. I'd say I maybe net on average 1800 calories a day

Yes, it's absolutely boiling in the uk this past week and I have been out in the sun. This gives me hope! Thanks for the reply guys...I was feeling pretty down on myself but feel better after these replies
